I want to build a PC

hello, I'm thinking about building a pc and since I have no idea about anything I'm asking you guys!
I would like a pc that is fast and can run some games, editing programs, internet etc (a bit of everything) and that lasts, not that I have to change it after a short time. I'm thinking of spending approx. $5000. (if it goes over don't worry too much, but it should be better quality!)

what do you recommend? (processor, mother, ram, hard drive, video card, etc, whatever is needed lol)
