Corsair 900D, Home Server
-
As I mentioned in the thread I created a few days ago about the Silverstone Ft02, I've got myself a Corsair 900D.
At first, when I saw this case, I was a bit wary, as I've been used to custom-built cases for several years, practically made to measure, starting from mass-produced cases. I didn't have all the facts about it. But nothing could be further from the truth, the case is amazing. It's thought out to the last detail. Whether we want to put a fully RL-cooled Gamer PC or a PC with a large number of hard drives.
Well, I won't go into too much detail about it, as you've probably read enough... So I'll keep leaving images of the assembly...
My idea is to build a Server for a large amount of information, and that practically has no limits...
At first in the FT02, the maximum total number of drives I could put in was 11. In the Corsair right now I have capacity for 15, and you can still add internal drive bays, 3 in particular, which could raise that number to 24 drives................ :ugly::ugly:
Hardware:
MSI Z77 Mpower
Intel i5 2500K
8 GB DDR3 Corsair Dominator Platinum
Corsair HX1000
Asus U3S6 SATA controllersUp to 15 hard drives (At the moment there's an 80 GB Hitachi for the Server system and a 3T WD Green)
There's room for 9 in the tower, plus two racks in the 5.25 bays like these.
I was thinking of cooling it with an H70, but I'm going to pull myself together and we're going to make a nice RL setup.
Here we go..........

This has been the presentation... I'll keep updating with the assembly...

What a shame about the case, I'd love to see it designed by you, full of R.L….. ;D
I already saw where you got it, you know I was about to go for it.... it's a very good case and the design is spectacular. I was looking at it before I went for the Mountain, but I'm going for this second one.
You're going to create a good Homer server and from what I can tell you're going to have great storage inside.
Looking forward to seeing the project.
Hugs, man.

Jotole pity for the case, I'd like to see it designed by you, full of R.L….. ;D

Hehe, Thanks Ruru, that's the idea, to create a server, and forget about updating the HTPC for a while. Or forever….....;).
There are changes in the platform. The Xeon, although more prepared for the server's needs, combined with the Asus WS, was going to consume around 170W on idell. So, given the possibility of creating a more efficient and modern system, it will be replaced by
MSI Z77 Mpower
Intel i5 2500KIt's getting closer to seeing some images, don't despair............

Best regards...

True to my customs, and since I don't have much time fortunately... I have finished the project so there are no images of the process...
I leave you the final result...
As I mentioned, a couple of sponsors joined, Profesinalreview and Pcrelic, thanks to their collaboration the Mod has been able to be this way, Thank you.....!!!
Main Material

As I mentioned above, I have changed the Asus WS, and the Xeon X5570 for an MSI Z77 Mpower and a 2500k. This more modern platform, is much less gluttonous, and for being a Server, it is something to take into account.

And this is the result of the assembly:

Well, for now it stays like this, it already has all the sata occupied on the motherboard, a total of 6 disks that together sum up to 14T. From now on when I have to add disks, sata controllers will be added. There is still room for 9 more disks, and the bays are expandable to another two, x 3 disks other 6. Making a total of 21 disks in the 900D...
Not bad, no.....
At this moment I will be updating with more images...
A greeting

You already had me worried that you weren't updating the Mod
I hope it's for work reasons.....Is that radiator I see in the image a Black Ice?? You did very well in changing the Xeon for the 2500, to have it plugged in all day it's better to have something of those specs.
Lately I've been seeing many computers with the R.L tanks on the right side of the case in a vertical area, and the truth is it's scary. What a lot of memory you've put in.......;D;D
What a beast of a "terabyte" 14 and still with the possibility of adding a few more..... I don't rule out doing something similar someday when I get the hunch.
I'll follow you closely to see how this Corsair Nas is evolving.
A hug.
