I have an LG monitor at 120hz. It does not give much image quality, but now I know that I will never go back to a 60hz panel. For first person shooters, it is impossible for me to play comfortably at less than 100 fps and only the perfect smoothness of the mouse pointer movement on the screen is already worth it. It is another world.
When I bought it, the only 120hz panels were the mediocre TN ones. I wonder if they have already managed to get IPS, S-IPS or some technology (led?) that allows 120hz or more but with very good image quality and especially with acceptable vertical viewing angles.
