      Hello everyone,

I have a client who bought me an HTPC and has a problem with the TV.

It's a Philips LED pfl-7956, with a 21:9 format and a resolution of 2520x1080 and the HTPC has an AMD A8 5500 APU with an integrated Radeon.

The issue is that with the HTPC, it won't let you select more than 1920*1080, so of course, there are black bars on the sides.

According to what I've been told on ForoDVD, it's impossible to get the TV signal to the panel resolution, which is 2520x1080, and they say that what you have to do is play with the TV's zooms so that the image scales. But the maximum resolution of HDMI 1.4 is 3840x2160 at 30hz, so in theory, the HTPC would be ready to output the signal at the TV's resolution, although it might not reach 60hz possibly.

The client insists that when he connects a bluray and another device via HDMI, the image takes up the whole screen without having to zoom or anything, however with the HTPC, the black bars appear on the sides, because of course, it outputs at 1920x1080 instead of 2520x1080.

I thought that the problem might be that you have to put some TV drivers into Windows so that it recognizes its resolution well, but I've been looking and I can't find anything.

Does anyone with a monitor or TV with this resolution have any advice?

      Thanks a lot in advance

      Best regards

If the graphics memory is shared, configure it in the BIOS to allocate more than 1Gb to the graphics card.
