Hello. I've been looking for information and I've seen everything, so I'll see if your experience can guide me.
To get the best performance, in what format should I format the microSD card? I've seen that some people leave it in exFAT, others put it in EXT3, others in EXT4 and there are even those who create a SWAP partition.
Thank you.

If I'm not mistaken, I've always had them in FAT32 (or maybe 16?), except for one occasion with the Galaxy Ace. In this case, it was to be able to do a trick where the mobile took part of the SD as if it were internal memory to install programs, and that partition had to be created in ext3.
The truth is that it had never occurred to me to use anything other than FAT, but who knows, maybe it will be like the Raspberry that consumes fewer resources with ext3/4.

For storage I think it's fat, if you want to swap it to another partition or even being root and using cm you can make a partition be internal memory. The truth is that I have not fixed it because I usually format from the bootloader.

I have tried on Ext 3 and 4 and it does not recognize the card. It only works on FAT32.
I have also created a swap partition but I do not know to what extent the system will use it.

You can only functionally create the swap from the bootloader, otherwise it will not be used
