I'm messing around with a new computer and I found a pretty interesting site, where there are widgets for windows that allow you to monitor different aspects of the system.
I suppose that by now I haven't discovered the fountain of youth, but for me they've been a pretty decent alternative to heavier applications. ;D -
I have installed some orbmu2k gadgets to monitor the CPU that show you the CPU frequency, temperature and load of each core, as well as its temperature and OC percentage. Also the same gadget shows the RAM used at each moment. I also use one for the GPU that shows the temperature, workload and fan revolutions and voltages.
I have been using them for quite some time and they are very useful for me to see, at a quick glance, the state of the equipment.Best regards.
