Renew Micro and motherboard while keeping hd 7770
-
Hello Friends As I put in the title I wanted to ask you to help me upgrade my micro and motherboard while keeping my hd 7770 video card, I'll tell you what I have in my PC right now to see if you can help me.
A Gigabyte 78LMT-S2 motherboard (760G chipset) and it says on the box AM3+ CPU Ready.
It also says New AM3+ CPU BIOS installed.
Phenom 2 x2 555 3.20 GHz micro.
Radeon hd 7700 XFX Core Edition.
4 gigs of ram with win 7 32 bits and 2 one tera disks plus a cd/dvd reader.
Antec VP450 450w real power supply, so far everything has been fine even when I connected another 80 gb sata disk to get information from that disk.
Well that's the equipment I have.
An upgrade to a card like the hd 7870 would mean I'd have to change the power supply and I think the micro too because I was told that an hd 7870 or 7850 would cause a bottleneck with the phenom I have with its number of cores which I don't know if it's true.
I also don't know if it would cause a bottleneck with an r7 260x or an r9 270x from the new series.
And right now I can't afford to change everything and I want to change the micro and motherboard while keeping the hd 7770 for now, maybe later I'll go for something like the hd 7870.
Will the hd 7770 perform better with an fx 6300 or 6350 than with the phenom I have, I clarify that everything is for playing at 1366x768 resolution on a 32 inch led hd ready.
Or would I not see any change at all,
and in case the motherboard I have supports an fx 6300 would I have to keep it or change it too or just the micro I mean because of this chipset 760 G I don't know if it's very good or if it would make good use of an fx 6300 for example.
And finally the antec power supply can handle an fx6300 micro with the hd 7700 plus the rest of my PC, I mean fx6300 but I hope you advise me on the fx line that will make my hd 7700 perform a little better always talking about using it at 1366x678 resolution.
At that resolution everything runs very smoothly except for crysis 3 (at that resolution everything is revealed in low layers it's my micro) and certain tracks of NFS the run and Metro Last Light.
Everything else runs very well at maximum.
I hope for your help and your opinion, thank you very much in advance.

You made a great purchase, that motherboard has turned out to have a very durable socket. I would only change the cpu, and go for the maximum it supports to squeeze that HD7770. If anything, I would add 4GB more of ram. According to GIGABYTE, the motherboard supports up to the FX-8100 95W;

It's a very big increase in performance. To play at 1300*700 you are more than enough;

Thanks for your reply..
That is true in 80% of the games but in games like crisis 3 not even everything down and at that low resolution of 30 fps I do not know if it is because that type of game demands more micro and the one I have is not enough..
I have to update the bios to version f5 for the fx 6300 something like that says on the gigabyte page there is no other option I am afraid jeje but otherwise it will not take the fx..Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
