How can I update the BIOS of an MSI Big Bang Marshal (B3) motherboard?
-
Hello there. I have a problem with my PC, which is quite long to explain right now. I think that updating the BIOS might solve it, and if the problem persists after updating, then I will explain it to you to see what can be done.
But I prefer to try updating the BIOS. I don't know how to do it and I have contacted MSI support, but they haven't even acknowledged me, so bravo for such fantastic support.
I have searched on Google, but I can't find any information on how to do it on this motherboard.
The BIOS menu is graphical and in Spanish, there is a checkbox that says ms-flash, I think that by downloading the new BIOS version, putting it on a pen drive and accessing that checkbox, the BIOS would be updated, but I'm not sure, I would like, please, for you to explain to me as detailed as possible how to do it, since the people from MSI, pass by olimpically.
I also don't know which BIOS version to download, I have found the one that I think is the most recent, but I'm not sure, this is what I have found:
MSI España - Ordenadores, portátiles, Notebook, Sobremesa, Placas Base, Tarjetas Gráficas y más
But, it says something about ivy brigde BIOS update and it makes me feel bad because my processor is sandy brigde, is this the latest BIOS that corresponds to my motherboard, the one from 2013?
Thank you for everything.
Best regards.

It's quite simple, as you say, BIOS to pen and m-flash. There shouldn't be any problems with Ivy updates but, anyway, they usually announce the fixes just like they mention the code update for Ivy in 3.0 and 3.1. If it's a fault in the BIOS, you can also try removing the battery.

It's easy, just put the bios file on a pendrive, first make sure that the pendrive is recognized, although if it doesn't work, it's not a problem because you wouldn't be able to update.
MSI Spain - Computers, laptops, Notebook, Desktop, Motherboards, Graphics Cards and more
Here you have a video of an Asus, it's the same since in Asus it's called EZ flash and in MSI I think it's M flash but it works the same.
You download the Bios file from its page and unzip it on a Pendrive, you enter the UEFI to M flash, select the pendrive and the bios file and click update, it will tell you that you can't turn off the computer or cut the power while it updates.
