Windows original (update)
-
Hello everyone:
Well, you see, I'm going to set up an association and I have a Windows 8 on my laptop that is not original, at least I don't have the license even though it says it's original.
I would like to make it legal, just in case an inspection comes, but I don't want to format the computer with a blank installation.
What can I do and how do I do it?
No, if I buy a Windows 8 disc from eBay that comes with a license, would that be enough to reinstall the operating system, but of course, I don't know if there would be problems with the programs.
What I don't understand is the difference between the Windows 8 discs from one site and another, for example on eBay they are for 60 euros and on PC components for 150 euros, … I don't know what it's due to.
Well, companions, what can I do to legalize it without losing the programs already installed and that it is legal?

Well, it's pretty simple: buy an original Windows 8.1 license.
I don't know what stores you've looked at, but at PCC and Xtremedia it's over €105 with shipping costs. Then you would only have to change the product license from the OS itself, without needing to reinstall. Remember that what you pay for is the original sticker with the serial number.
Always, always, always I have recommended, recommend and will recommend, saving all personal files (what we don't want to lose) in a partition different from the OS.
The thing about "My documents", etc., for me, is a trap in that sense.:ugly:There are very good, easy-to-use and free Linux distros.
Edit: The price difference is that eBay offers second-hand items. Regardless of whether it's sealed or not, the price already varies. On the other hand, you depend on the seller's seriousness. A good understanding...
Since you want to do it right, don't take a chance and buy it from a reputable store. If on the other hand you like adventure, save the euros and keep going as you are. -
You can also buy it online at the Microsoft store, upgrade to 8.1, enter the original key and you're done. Lately, I buy them online because of the speed.

Thank you very much, it has become clear to me, I think I will buy a Windows 8.1 disc on pcc or ebay, that will depend on the price, but at 50 euros, I think ebay, right?
Another thing, can someone give me instructions on how to change the license, or a serious tutorial, so that there are no conflicts, or a more or less simple explanation.
Thank you very much.
P.D.: I don't know if this will help:

My concern is that since it's a trial version of Windows 8.1, something strange might happen when I enter the key, according to what I've seen by searching (slui.exe) → add features to your edition → I already have a product key → enter key (I don't know if that would be enough to activate it, or if I would have to do another operation to legalize my Windows 8.1).
Will you say if this works or not?
