Hello, yesterday I was at a second-hand store in my city, and I saw two graphics cards, the GTX750 with 2GB DDR5 (which would already be good for what I wanted to use, I think it gets along well with hackintosh) for 65€ and the Sapphire HD7870XT with 2GB also (this one would be perhaps a bit more complicated). I start from a GTX560TI with 1GB DDR5, and there are already some games that also give me problems in their operation at 1080, not because of the processor but because of the Ram of the graphics (what I can notice).

The thing is that I picked up the GTX750 if I know it is more or less the 560 with 2 GB, but more compatible and fresh, but this one is broken, and I will return it.

So, do you think the HD7870XT with 2GB DDR5 is viable for current games? do not confuse with the normal 7870 I explain:

HD 7870XT (Thaiti LE (from the 7950/70 family)
925 MHz Core Clock, With Boost: 975 MHz
      28 nm Chip
      1536 x Stream Processors
      Memory
      2048 MB Size
      256 -bit GDDR5
      6000 MHz Effective

      HD 7870 normal (Pitcaim)
925 MHz Core Clock, With Boost: 975 MHz
      28 nm Chip
      1280 x Stream Processors
      Memory
      2048 MB Size
      256 -bit GDDR5
      4800 MHz Effective

What would you do? after the failure, I will try to get it for 80€.

Haven't you found anything similar or better on Hard2Mano? I say this because of the security of the treatment that the hardware has received, which in a foreign store we already know that there can be anything...

I know that's why I have a nagging feeling, in fact my GTS250 is from there and it's still going strong! xD.

Nothing, the graphic was in bad condition, to save up for a GTX960 of 4GB or 2GB.

I'm late. The 7870 XT performs slightly less than the 7950, a graphics card that I have and that is more than successful. My recommendation is to look for a 7950, which can be found for around €90 and which performs decently today. I upgraded from an AMD 5850 Xtreme, which performed slightly less than the 560 GTX, and approximately doubled the performance. Also, a 7970 should be seen in forums for around €125. The 960 GTX is very expensive for my taste in terms of performance. Look for the AMD counterparts to the graphics cards I mentioned, the 280 and 280X. The 960 GTX performs similar to a 7950, depending on the game, a little more or a little less. And I say it seems very expensive to me because about a year ago I remember seeing deals on the 280X for around €160 on Amazon, for example, a graphics card that is generally superior to the 960 GTX. So paying around €200 for a 960 GTX seems expensive to me. Another thing is that the market is as it is. Years ago, mid-range graphics cards could be found at better prices.

That was my idea to look for a 7970 Ghz edition, but it must be nvidia, so I can use hackintosh, and I also think the same about the gtx960, it's a mess on nvidia's part, as it's not as much of a leap from a gtx760 for example to a 960, as it was from an 8600gt to a 9600gt, or from a 260 to a 460 or from a 560 to a 660.

So then, it's time to buy a 960 GTX or an older one second-hand. Although Nvidia "sabotages" and I put it in quotes, their graphics cards from several generations ago, which performed very well a few years ago, suddenly don't perform as well anymore; while AMD cards from several generations ago like the 7950 - 7970, without being cucumbers today, still perform well.

And yes, the 960 GTX range is not that I say it's bad, but for me it has an excessive price in relation to what it performs.
