Hello, I have a Maxtor IDE disk of 250GB that has suddenly had all its data erased. When I try to access the disk, it only gives me the option to format the disk, which is not what I want. I want to recover my data.
What can I do…!!!
Regards

What data was there? Because maybe it's not worth recovering it, it's not exactly cheap...

You have probably lost the partition table, use a disk repair or data recovery software. The most important thing is not to write to the disk, and especially not to format it.
PD. You can try with CGSecurity, otherwise you will need a file recovery tool like Recuva. There are many more, many paid and a few free, search on google, softonic, etc.

A good software to recover data is easy recovery pro (it is paid…..) recuva is not bad.
You could also try to examine the partition with partition magic, if you have xp, and if you have vista or seven with paragon partition magic, the thing is that you must select the partition and there must be an option with the right button or in the toolbar that says something like examine.comment how it went
