ASRock presents the first motherboard on the market with PCI-Express 3.0 support
-
ASRock has beaten all its rivals to the punch and has exclusively unveiled the first motherboard on the market with support for the new PCI-Express 3.0 standard, the Fatal1ty Professional Z68 Gen3. This new motherboard features two PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots that, when combined with an Ivy Bridge CPU, will be capable of delivering twice the bandwidth of 2.x, thanks to the backing of an integrated PLX PEX8608 chip. It also features a third PCIe 2.0 x16 slot, allowing it to accommodate Quad SLI or CrossFireX configurations (it maintains support for LucidLogix's Virtu technology). The list of virtues is completed with an 18-phase PWM power delivery system, four dual-channel DDR3-2133 memory slots, six 6Gbps SATA ports and four 3Gbps SATA ports with Intel Smart Response support, four USB 3.0 connections, two Gigabit Ethernet, an eSATA connector, 8-channel audio, a diagnostic display, a special Fatal1ty USB Mouse Port (allows you to adjust the polling rate between 125 and 1000 Hz), and D-Sub and HDMI 1.4 (x2) video outputs.
Asrock's new Fatal1ty Professional Z68 Gen3 will be hitting stores soon with a price yet to be announced.
