I need advice (plate, micro, and memos only)
-
Well, since I'm having a problem with resets and I only have the motherboard and CPU left to rule out, and since I haven't changed anything on the PC in a few years, I'm going to treat myself... after getting marital consent xD
To the point, I went to a store in my city today and they offered me this:
Intel Core i5-2400 3.1 Ghz Socket 1155.......155,40€
GIGABYTE PA65-UD3-B3......... 87,30€
MEMORY 4GB KINGSTON DDR PC 1333.........28,50€Total: 271,20€
From the prices I've looked at, it seems like a good buy, but it's also true that I've been disconnected from the topic for a while, and the i3, i5, etc... I've only looked at it superficially.
That's why I would appreciate advice.I'm keeping the rest of the equipment, the graphics card, a HD4850 from Sapphire is more than enough for me, at least for now.
I already know the memory isn't great, but I can't stretch any further, so for now I'll stick with this and when I sell some of the things I have, I'll get a decent kit at my own pace.
Regards and thanks! -
Why don't you save a little and switch to socket 1156?
In 1156 you have some boards, like the Asus P7H55D-M PRO for about 95€ that support DDR3 at 2100mhz already, and there isn't much difference in price between the memories... and you get an i5 with 8mb of L3 :D:D
-
Hehe... and when I have enough for an 1156, if I save a little more, I'll buy something better for sure xD
The truth is, getting new equipment is always the same story, for a "little" more you buy something better, but in the end it all adds up and if you listen to it, you're saving a lifetime xDThe thing is that I need to change my pc "urgently", to give you an idea, I had to rewrite the previous post because of one of these restarts that the pc has been having lately and it's a pain...
It seems like when I'm in front of the computer I'm scared because I don't know when it's going to restart
If I lean towards a socket 1155 it's basically because the guy at the store advised me, saying that it's the socket with the most future.
Obviously I'm not rushing into it, that's why I ask people who really understand this, that is, you
Meanwhile I'm reading and de-rusting my brain, as I said, I have the computer thing a bit on the side.On the other hand, my intention is to change my pc in 1 or 2 weeks and the budget is approximately 250 euros, so you see, I can't stretch any more :eoh:
Thanks for responding Hits!

If you don't want OC or you can't afford a decent motherboard (just over 100€) + 2500K (just under 200€) + Hyper 212+ (25-30€) I think it's a good team.
-
Hello gaiteiro, it depends on what you want to spend. If you're not going to overclock, that micro will work perfectly for you. The motherboard, I suppose, will be the p67A.ud3, which I think is a good buy. The only thing I wouldn't put in is the memory, but they're cheap for a while, for about 12€ more, you have some gskill or some mushkins, but well, that already depends on the budget.
P.D
Don't switch to 1156, the 1155 are more modern.
-
The memory is barely noticeable and the motherboard is the PH, an H67 without video outputs, cheap and cheerful. I see it as a harmonious system that also saves on a heatsink, a good config looking for price.
-
The board has the H61, but hey, if you haven't updated in a long time, you'll really notice the change, tell us when you have it.

I think it's pretty good and at a good price, don't hesitate, for that money you can't get anything better
PD: which store is it? neighbor

Damn, that's true, it's the PA65, we can't get it right :fumeta:

The one on Ramón y Cajal, elsupermercadodelpc.
It was previously called Cibernet and then MediaMar.
To be honest, I've been happy with the store, good service and friendliness. What I have right now is a Core2Duo E7500, 2 gb DDR2 800mhz and an Asus P5B plus.
And to be honest, up until now it's been working well and I have enough power for the use I give it, but between the problems of restarts and such, I'll take the opportunity to upgrade a bit for the future. Thanks for the opinions, you guys are great!

Jesusito de mi vida!!!!
This is going to be a blast! :D:D:D
And it's not a high-end machine, but you can tell it's lighter…
That said, I'll have to read a lot again if I want to get the most out of it, I'm getting lost with the bios settings, there are quite a few that are new to me
Well, thank you all so much for your advice and opinions, really, you've helped me a lot... again!
By the way, for now I'm using the stock cooler, the first time in my life that I use a stock one xD
And man, it's not bad for now, but I couldn't stretch it anymore, so when I save up some money, I'll get some decent memory and a cooler.
Best regards. -
Well I'm glad, the truth is that after changing platforms after a few years you have to notice the difference, enjoy it mate.
-
It would be bad if you didn't notice the difference :risitas::risitas:
If you're not going to push it hard and it's temporary with the stock cooler you'll be able to manage but as soon as you can change it because they suck :nono:,the advantage is that as they are fresh processors with an economical one you're already good to go,you don't need a Noctua or anything like that.
Regarding squeezing more out of the processor, you can't do much because that one has the multiplier locked.Enjoy it a lot buddy ;D;D.
Best regards
-
Well, you can really tell... and yes Nemo, it would be bad if I didn't notice anything!
As for overclocking, well, as of today, it's not one of my priorities either, it performs more than enough for what I do and I'm not tinkering like I did years ago to learn and have that sense of satisfaction of having scraped those mhz.
I remember now that I searched a lot to find an Amd XP 2400 AIHUB (I still remember it all xD), I overclocked that processor with an abit nf7-s a lot, wow, I had a great time with that computer xD
Regards. -
Pffff if I tell you that almost 1 year later I'm still using the stock cooler... will you delete my account? xD
It's that life changes, man, in 1 year I should have opened the computer no more than 3 times, removed a couple of bunches of dust on one occasion, on another to mount a hard drive and if I remember correctly another for cleaning "on top".
I hate having to open the computer!
To this day if they ask me what card I have I just say an Asus I don't know what. That said, the computer is working fine, which is what matters

Best regards.
