Intel has always been more expensive than AMD, sometimes they have given better results and other times less, although I am pro AMD (too bad for Cirix and company), I can tell you that the comps are right, either you buy an Intel or you wait for the new AMDs (which I hope will be very good), only you decide: something good as of today or something that is coming and we will see... :mudo:
PD in the matter of cards... Intel used tri-channel, that is paid for, I think today they are going for four-channel, that is paid for but... it is something like this (and I don't like the ball foot :D:D) being a daredevil or a coward :mudo: ¿nvidia or ati?

+1 to an i5. If you are looking for price and do not want OC a 2400, leaving aside integrated SATA 3 with an H61 motherboard (such as the ASRock iCafe) is not expensive, although I would stick with an ASRock P67 Pro3 if you do not want multiGPU + 2500K with a thermalright HR-02.

        The prices are as follows:

        2400 (175) - iCafe (65) = 240
        2500K (195) - P67 Pro3 (95) - HR-02 (40) = 330

If you go to an AMD it would be an AM3+ which is 100 euros in motherboard (970A-UD3 for example), and it would be best to wait for the Bulldozer (which is still to come), if not at most the 955 at 105€ to get by, or even an Athlon II x3 of 70 euros to change it quickly for a Bulldozer if you are in a hurry, with the consequent extra cost :rollani:

In the case of wanting multiGPU we would be talking about about 40€ more in motherboard at least in the case of Intel (P67 Extreme 4) and a slightly more expensive power supply, a couple of 6870s are really pulling a lot and it does not come out very expensive. At LevelPC they have the Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 at 100€ that would allow you to plug in 2 graphics cards, a very good price that could justify the purchase of an AM3 micro in the case of wanting it already.

So, I was looking for an AM3+ motherboard because I want to upgrade it in a few years by getting an 8-core bulldozer and with crossfire, so I can buy another hd6950 and keep going. Of course, these purchases will probably be on the second-hand market.

The problem is that they say bulldozer will have lower IPC than Phenom II, which although it will compensate with high frequencies, it won't be a bomb. And I admit that the FX-8120, which they say will cost around $200, doesn't look bad. But I'm afraid of being the guinea pig for a new platform, as people suffered with the first Phenon I and the famous intel chipset problem that appeared a few months ago.

Honestly, if I get the 2500k spending a little more, I would go for a slightly cheaper motherboard. I don't know which chipset is better for OC, if the Z68 or the P67, I rule out the H67 because I don't need integrated. But seeing that the Z68 has the characteristics of both and looking for a motherboard with x8 crossfire support, etc., I like this one:

          Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 Motherboard

Plus, it's cheaper than the AM3+, so it compensates for the extra cost of the micro. What do you think?

Another thing, is the HR-02 better than the Archon? It's cheaper and that's a point in its favor ?

Regarding whether it's urgent or not... I'd like to order it this week.

The Macho is not better than the Archon but it is cheaper and is enough for a 2500K.

The Gigabyte you put is a D, the UD ones are tougher. I would get at least the Extreme4 P67, Z68 if you are not interested in the integrated one it does not add anything important.

+1 to this option if you have to change your PC now and want to go for an AMD, I built for a friend a 450 x3 with a 6850 at the beginning of the year and that processor performs very well... especially looking at the price :D.

But the thing is to get something this week that will last a couple of years or so, and then as I imagine what will become small will be the graphics card, so I'll get another one for Crossfire and give it a boost.

For €100 you have the 990XA which is slightly better than the 970 or for €117 the FXA.

Something like this would not be bad for my taste ?

With a Corsair TX650 it would already be enough for this machine, unless in the future you want to do an SLI of the 560TI. I wouldn't change the rest.

Yes, I put it on purpose because he commented something about a future SLI.
