I personally, I'm really sorry, but for now I can say that wood is not your thing
either you improve a lot, or you are losing the bunch of points you had :nono::nono:
P.D and I hope you don't feel offended, but I see things that :nono::nono: -

P.D and I hope you don't feel offended, but I see things that :nono::nono:You have to be patient man. What appears in the photos for now is very initial. I suppose that then comes sanding, retouching and painting and it can be perfect.
Besides, the things that Smasher has posted here have always been quite transgressive and creative. Give it time …

I am with Iforos, I am sure that the final finish will surprise us as always, their work has been of impeccable quality so far.

I'm not saying you're wrong
but if the photos posted so far are of melamine DM (DM plated with a melamine compound, which is what it looks like) that doesn't paint it pretty, not even GOD (because it looks bad and the paint chips off) another thing is that I would use pure DM and then I would shut up and I think that's not the case :nono::nono: -
Wait guys! Don't despair, these are just the first photos!!!

I don't know what he was thinking of doing, but the way he sanded the edges, that can only be painted and for that handle I made two evening news broadcasts. How well the kid was doing :D:D
P.D. advice for cutting melamine if you don't have many means, it is advisable to put sealant in the cutting area so that it brings out fewer splinters

Well, I bring you more progress! The cover of the Slim DVD reader:

Fixing all the parts:

I hope you like it, in a few days I will upload more progress!
Regards! -
you've put a good formón bracket on the board to insert the DVD
be careful when painting the edges because the DM sucks a lot and can swell

CNCBCN, I have the impression that it is MDF with a primer layer, not melamine.
And the edges, with a couple of coats of that same primer and then a finish coat, have no problem.
I agree with you about the handle, which can give way, especially because even when empty it weighs something due to the thickness of the wood used, but with the components mounted, I can't even imagine.
Anyway, the project looks very good.Best regards.

They are great this project (I didn't see the post at the time), and I like the progress you bring us, I hope you bring more.
Greetings!!

Nemo, carpenters are very reluctant to use English Medium-density fibreboard - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that's the same as DM = medium density
regarding it not being melamine, look at this Melamine catalog
but the best argument I can give you to prove that it is is that if you cut melamine with a jigsaw, it makes splinters (the melamine chips) and if you look closely at the photos, you'll see lots of splinters, which is why they had to "kill" the edges so drastically
P.D. this wasn't for PCs :D: -
Watercooling arrived!

Stay tuned for updates!

I would say it's melamine, looking at the holes it has made in the vertical piece, you can see that the wood inside is lighter and that to the sides it is more yellowish... possible glue inside?

changing the subject, what about pin-type fittings? considering that all the equipment is left "in the air", safety fittings would look better http://www.tienda-traxtore.com/tienda/index.php?page=pp_producto.php&md=0&ref=RL0595 mainly because you would have to put metal clamps on the pin-type ones and I don't think that would look very photogenic :nono::nono:

mostly because you will have to put metal clamps on the spike ones and I don't think that will look very photogenic :nono::nono:
:nono: the metal clamps don't tighten the tubes well and they usually leak, with those fittings the plastic clamps of old or some that are sold specifically for tying those tubes (they are also plastic) work better.
-
WELL valeeeee you're right, they are too wide. but the safety rods look better, more than any of these things with the pin rods http://www.tienda-traxtore.com/tienda/index.php?page=pp_productos.php&md=1&tbusq=1&codf=524&pagact=1 :D:D
