A multitude of problems!!! Help please!!!

Hello, I have been experiencing the following problems lately:

1. Continuously, under Windows 7 32 bits and without warning, the screen freezes and I have to restart the computer.

2. Sometimes when restarting, the BIOS does not beep and does not start and/or the following message appears:
Warning, System boot fail. Your system last boot fail or POST interrupted. F1 to continue, recommends loading the default BIOS configuration.

3. I have the tower open, because I am doing tests to see what happens, and I have observed that many times the tower, the metal casing is under tension, and I feel the tingling of the current when I touch it with my fingers.

4. The NEC 3540A 1.04 DVD-RW drive sometimes does not work well, both when reading and writing. I wanted to know if there is any way to check its status before deciding to throw it away.

As part of the tests, I tried using Ubuntu (from CD) and I got the following kernel error:

hello, well you fucked up my first suggestion the power supply is new new or new from two years ago? if you have a multimeter, check it against the power supply. do you have a ground outlet at home? test the hard drives, just in case they are cracked. for now, I think that's all. you can try to disassemble the CD and give it a cleaning (there are also cleaning kits for sale)

Hello, thank you for your reply. The font is ruled out, because it's not only new but I've tried another different font and the same thing happens.

I've tried other different Kingston RAM modules and the same errors have continued to occur.

The casing under tension thing is really bugging me. I think I do have a ground connection but I'm not 100% sure. The electrical installation sockets are Schuko type with ground connection, so in principle I should have one.

check the wiring (make sure you don't have a molex in the wrong place) and unplug everything that is not essential (let's say you leave a hard drive (unless it's a RAID0) and nothing else, floppy disk drive, CD reader and everything else out and if it's still the same it's the motherboard

I was struck by the fact that the case has tension and gives you a kind of tingling sensation.
In addition to what your colleague suggested, check that the cables are not "pinched" or making any contact with the case.

If you notice that the case gives you a current, something is wrong.

Mount the minimum (motherboard + graphics card + disk + power supply) on top of a wooden table to rule out any contact with the case, which you do not specify what it is.

Check that the temperatures are within the "normal" range, that it is not shutting down for safety when it reaches high temperatures.

Out of curiosity, does the outlet where the computer is connected have a ground connection? Sometimes not having it makes you notice that tingling sensation. Having an outlet with the possibility of having a ground connection does not mean it is connected... if you could see the mess that is made...

Hello, thanks to everyone for the replies.

I have replaced the power cables of the monitor and the tower, and I have not noticed the casing being under tension again.

The computer hangs less, but it still does.

Here you can see the temperatures. The graphics card, which always goes above 60ºC, is a Gigabyte 9600GT that does not have a fan but a heatsink (it came like that from the factory).

I did not comment on the tower because it is generic.

Is it possible that the processor could be failing or is that very rare?

How could I be sure that the motherboard is what is failing? Everything points to a motherboard failure, but it seems a bit strange that I could start the computer and work for a while under Windows 7, perhaps if it were a motherboard failure, I could not start the computer. Any similar experiences?

Another thing I have noticed is that my clock is often 1 hour behind under Windows 7. The time zone is correctly set. It could be the BIOS battery, but do you think the BIOS battery could be causing all of this?

At -64ºC I think it's quite cool, I stayed at -50ºC with the Mach II so you can't complain I think the CPU sensor doesn't pick it up well..

I had something similar happen to me (only in reverse) or rather it still happens, the PC Probe II shows 71 degrees on the CPU at rest, while Core Temp shows 31 I don't know what the problem is but... as it doesn't crash with 4 CPU brun nothing happens

check the time in the BIOS if it's correct it's not the battery

you could disassemble the PC and put it on a newspaper or something like that and press F.A (to see if it's the power supply)
and for now I can't think of anything else

The time thing could be a BIOS battery issue, but so many failures together make it look like the motherboard is dying...

It could be that the disk controller is broken, that happened to me once.

Did you do what Mystique recommended, to only put in the minimum to see how it reacts? Start there...

At my partner's house when I touch the faucet and the dishwasher, I act as a ground. And zap. There's something there. What to rule out to start, the ground should always be there so that the current doesn't do its thing. But those CPU temperatures I'd like to see less than 65. In any case, first, as mystique says, rule out leaks because it's the beginning of the end of the chips, circuits, etc.
