Samsung shows off its futuristic idea of a flexible and transparent tablet
-
Samsung plans to launch the first smartphones with flexible screens next year, but they don't intend to stop there, as they also want to bring this technology to future tablets.
The South Korean company is one of the biggest investors in the development of this type of screen, which will hit the end-user market next year.
In fact, it has been rumored that they will soon start mass-producing a 4.5-inch flexible screen model.
What the Samsung team is showing us today is not a device we will see in the immediate future, but rather a concept of what we can expect in the coming years. It is a gadget halfway between a smartphone and a tablet that consists only of a flexible and transparent screen.
This curious Samsung Flexible AMOLED screen can be bent and even rolled up like a newspaper. It can be used as a camera, e-reader, video chat service, instant translator, and can also be used to display three-dimensional holographic images thanks to augmented reality technology.
For now, this technology is far from being a reality, but it is more than likely that at the next Consumer Electronics Show (held in January) new prototypes of gadgets with flexible screens will be shown.
