Facebook equips its app for Android with that of iOS
-
Facebook has decided to put aside its battles with Google and surrender to the evidence; Android is the dominant mobile platform and its users deserve to have a social network application similar to the one they have on iOS.
In this sense, the Facebook team has announced the launch of a new update to its Android application that significantly improves the speed of navigation through the different tools of the social network.
This update also improves the viewing of photographs, so that it is easier to view, share, edit or comment on the images uploaded to Facebook from mobile devices governed by Android.
This new version shows notifications and messages at the top of the screen, allowing the user to respond without having to leave the page. In addition, the update has placed the feed of updates, groups, games and applications in the menu on the left side with the aim of offering faster access.
Apart from this update for Android, Facebook is also in the news today for another issue related to the subscribe button, which was received with criticism for its reasonable resemblance to the Follow button on Twitter.
According to Joanna Shields, Vice President and General Manager of Facebook for the EMEA region, the company will launch a new version of the subscribe button that can be included on any website.
