      Hello everyone,

I have just bought a graphics card, specifically the "Nvidia GT 440 DDR5 1GB", and immediately afterwards I set out to renew my old power supply.

I bought it after researching a bit, the NOX Urano II 530W and I was wondering if you could confirm, that I have made a good purchase and that it will support well the demand to which I can subject it..

In short, if it is a good source (considering that it cost me 42€), and if there is a risk of falling short with the power..

Thank you very much in advance,

      Best regards.

it's a normal font, neither good nor bad, but enough to move that pc ?

Indeed it is a normal power supply, but the graph itself won't require much power from you, you have enough with that power supply.

I haven't managed to set up the power supply, but after reading around the internet, I've seen that it doesn't have very good reviews when it comes to wanting to expand the computer's capacity in the future.

I've seen that there's another option that's a bit more powerful and not much more expensive, I'm referring to the "NOX NX Series 620W" which barely reaches 50€ and according to what I've read, it has active PFC (I would appreciate it if you could explain a bit more about the difference between having active PFC or not).

I look forward to your opinions and with what you tell me I will weigh up whether to change it.

Many thanks for your help ?

PFC Passive: uses passive elements to correct the phase of the voltage and current, such as ferrite core inductors.
They are cheap elements, the quality is not as good as in active PFC.

PFC Active: uses circuits that allow you to reduce harmonics and adjust the input index to the AC (this is why power supplies with active PFC do not have the 110-220v selector on the back)

having active or passive PFC does not affect the efficiency of the AC, an AC without PFC has a lower “Power Factor” and a higher amount of harmonics than one with PFC.

While an AC without PFC has a Power Factor of 60% (0.6) or less, an AC with passive PFC over 75-85% and one with active PFC over 95%

it is always better to have an AC with less W of power but with active PFC than one with more W but with passive PFC.

In summary, we have that a power supply with PFC is more efficient and is able to regulate the voltages, therefore keeping them stable

                  regards

Therefore, I understand that you recommend that I change the power supply and buy the "NOX NX Series 620W", right?

Thank you very much again for your help, goodbye!

if you have the option to have it changed in the store by paying the difference difference …... well yes, it is the most advisable ?
