Memory 1600 CL7 or 1866 CL9
-
Hello everyone. Which memory of these two is better for an i7 2600k on an Asus P8Z68 DELUXE/GEN3 motherboard?:
G.Skill RipjawsZ DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 16GB 4x4GB CL7 F3-12800CL7Q-16GBZM DDR3 Memory
G.Skill Sniper DDR3 1866 PC3-14900 8GB 2x4GB CL9 F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR DDR3 Memory
I ask because one goes to 1600 CL7 and the other to 1866 CL9 and I'm already lost.
On the other hand, would a memory of more than 1866 be worth it?
Would the i7 2600k take the 1866 ones directly or would something have to be configured?

In my opinion, the difference in performance is not noticeable (at least I don't notice any difference when I play, I don't know if in other applications like rendering it's more noticeable). I would go for the 1600 CL7, because they have lower latency, and because higher frequencies are not compatible with all motherboards, on some intel it says 1866 (OC), I don't know exactly what that means, but I would cover myself by choosing the 1600.
