Weird problem with wifi printer
-
Let's see if someone can enlighten me... because I'm :wall:
The situation is as follows:
A laptop, a switch, an access point (connected to said switch) and the wifi printer (it doesn't have a cable, only wifi xD)
I have the printer configured for wifi correctly and with the laptop connected by cable I can access it. The moment I remove the network cable and go through wifi with the laptop I can no longer access the printer, however I can access the internet and all the PCs on the LAN.
The printer is a Deskjet 3050 J611 series. Does anyone have any idea what might be blocking the laptop's wifi (and not the cable) when accessing the printer? The PC has the firewall and antivirus deactivated just in case. -
Can you access the printer from other PCs? Does it respond to ping from the laptop or other PCs?
-
The other PCs do, but they all use cable, I have not been able to test another PC via wifi. It does not respond to ping via wifi.

When you disconnect the cable and connect to wifi, restart the laptop (with the cable disconnected) and try to access the printer.
-
Check if the printer's WiFi is in client mode, or in ad-hoc mode.
Salu2!

Salu2!
But if the rest of the PCs can access and the printer is connected to a PA, it must be in client mode.
I think it's a problem in the laptop's routing tables, which when changing interfaces doesn't figure out how to access the printer.

Nothing.

I don't see that it has such an option to configure.
Now I have seen that the access point has a section called Wi-Fi Protected Setup that asks for a WPS device PIN to register it. Said printer has WPS support, in fact it is the little that comes out if you go to the wifi configuration from the printer's lcd panel and gives you a pin to enter in the router or access point, which I have not done because until now I have not seen that the AP had WPS support. Do you think that even having authenticated the printer well against the wifi (because I can well enter from a PC connected by cable to the switch) having both the WPS option is it mandatory to register that PIN? I had the feeling that this was only for it to be configured automatically, not to restrict access in some way.
PD: Today I will not be able to test it.
