      Hello,

A few weeks ago I posted a temperature problem:

      http://foro.hardlimit.com/placas-base/t-temperatura-de-mother-y-micro-63689.html

Well I decided to change several components of the pc as indicated in the topic I mentioned, one of them was the power supply which I changed for a new one: Sentey Extreme Power Erp400-ss 400w Sup Thermaltake Power Supply, which I did not use for more than 20 days without demanding it or anything just to browse.

I could smell a slight burning smell, so I thought that being new the smell was normal because I repeat IT WAS LIGHTLY SCARCELY, but my sense of smell made me doubt. So I decided to disassemble it since the power supply had been stored for 6 months in a new box.

I found this which I will detail. Give me your opinion if it is normal or if it came faulty.

As you can see it has in several places as if something had melted.

      Thanks for your answers

hello. I am blind, I can't see anything, not even the details

The smell of burning is never good, didn't it make strange noises before? I'll look at those photos when I can, best regards.

look.. the font is new and unused. from what I've been looking at it's normal "they say" that new fonts have some smell and then it goes away. what I've been looking at that caught my attention is that it has a siliconized paste all over it like it was dripped.. I'll see how I can upload the photos

Upload them to ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting and use the forum link it generates for you (tell it not to resize them). Perhaps the silicone you're talking about is the typical one used to hold electrical components or maybe even to insulate them from each other.

I found a review where they show it from the inside in case you want to compare the photos with yours: Review: Sentey Extreme Rock Power 400W Power Supply | Hard Planet Is that yellow silicone what you're referring to?

what I noticed was the white silicone all over the place but I guess it could be to reduce noise …

anyway they already changed the mobo that was giving me problems for another one I had saved and I could check how the temperature is already normal and not stuck at 50º., but the micro was still stuck at 50º, so I rebooted and I looked at the bios and there it went up and down normally so in this case coretemp was giving me a wrong data...

If you look at the review I showed you, there are the same yellow bumps in some places, so I doubt it's a problem, rather what I was saying about the silicone although apparently it doesn't fulfill any function XD If you're not comfortable, monitor the voltages to see the stability of the lines, I think the OCCT gave you a graph.
As for the core temp, it's strange, I suppose it varies with the CPU load, right? ? it should vary much more than in BIOS (where it usually doesn't move much), I don't know if your motherboard has any software of its own to monitor temperatures.

I'm with krampak that's strange, normally in the bios the temperatures shown are "stuck" because no component is "working". In another branch I compared core temp speedfan pc prove and rehobus Scythe Kama Meter and the one that gave me more correct temperatures was core temp with a margin of + - 1º with respect to the Scythe
