[JEDEC] Green light for DDR4 memories

This post is being processed/translated. The original version will be shown:
Tras mucho tiempo esperando, finalmente el JECEC ha publicado las especificaciones y estándares de la memoria DDR4 DRAM.

Su primer destino serán los grandes servidores y dispositivos móviles, y quizá alguna gráfica de gama baja.
Para equipos de escritorio no hay estimación, porque el DDR3 está lejos de limitarnos.

Well, this exponential increase in advantages looks great, not only for these memories themselves, but for future developments, such as DDR5 or similar, considering that development is exponential, the advantages are assumed to be great :sisi: Saludos -
Interesting infographic. And beastly capabilities: 16 gb per module… When the new platforms have become widespread, 32-bit systems will have completely lost their meaning.

And you with DDR 2 :ugly: I'm getting outdated. Long live my 775 platform ;D
The truth is that it looks good, but DDR3 is having a pretty long lifespan.

Amen, brother. I can't wait to change. My PC from 6 and a half years ago serves me for everything I use it for and that's not exactly light activities.
I can smell the DDR3 when I build someone's PC. And if the DDR4 last less than 2 or 3 years, the same will happen to them.

I also use DDR2 in the PC2, which, curiously, due to work reasons, is the one I use 5 days a week, and I'm still looking for a module to leave it at 2x2Gb and take advantage of dual-channel... If some of us have skipped platforms xDD
