Doubt about the useful life!

If you haven't touched anything related to voltage, you will be giving a better life to the card, than when it was in series, without the fan.
Anyway, unless you think you will have it for more than 10 years, surely before noticing any degradation, you will change it for being obsolete.

As your colleague indicates, when you lower the temperatures and increase the frequency without touching the voltage, the life of the card should not be too affected. Overclocking depends on factors such as temperatures, but more importantly, each core has its own maximum frequency limitations. Try if artifacts appear. Anyway, it is a very basic card and I don't know to what extent it will allow you to play games that you can't play without OC. It seems that the card can go up much more, the core has people who have passed it from 750… VmoD Ati Hd 4350 1gb sapphire - Taringa! ~~ OVERCLOCK ON HD4350-VMOD~~ http://foro.hardlimit.com/overclock/t-overclock-ati-hd4350-60202.html Good luck and see how far you can push it, of course, always with a fan attached. -
Under a low oc the card won't suffer anything, but with a high oc it's always interesting that part of the air flow also hits the card, and if the card allowed you to increase the voltage and the oc was especially high and/or with voltage increase it would be almost essential that you locate the voltage regulation and power components to make sure they are ventilated.
This so that it lasts without problems and at least until there is no other choice but to change it.I would be surprised if that card had voltage control, surely the oc limit will be when the power is no longer enough for the chip, no matter how much I cool it with the fan.

Indeed, even if you increase frequencies, if you keep it cooler than stock, the useful life shouldn't be affected.

To the maxims of "the higher the OC, the shorter the duration" and "the higher the OC, the greater the need for cooling" add the one of "there are heatsinks stuck to the micro with chewing gum (1) and if they come off BUM!, they turn into chocapic" ;D
(1) Read that the thermal paste in low-end products is so bad that it disintegrates with the same heat.
