Well, seeing the other branch, I'm opening this one to talk about the world of video games in general, to rant or praise or to act like old man cebolleta.
Here we go, let's get it started.:osvaisacagar: -
Looking back at the games I've been playing this year, I realize I've spent a lot of hours on games I've already played:
Age of Empires 2
Modern Warfare 2 (finishing the Co-op mode)
GTA 3 (my god, what a blast playing it again after 10 years...ugh)
Max Payne 2
Portal 1
Flatout1 (I left it incomplete in 2007, but bought a pack on Steam and gave it a second chance)And well, about 14-16 levels of Tomb Raider author (TR4), what addicted ones they are.
Anyway, thanks to Bad Company 2, Fear 3 and BF3 (a few hours), I got the most out of my PC :ugly:
Anyway, I must also say that this year I've given a lot to multiplayer, you could say that I hadn't played so much on PC for years, and the funny thing is that I feel like I could have played more :troll:
Well, the truth is that nowadays there's too much industrialization and console-ization of games, and it's a shame because it's harder to see "fresh" things, but what can you do.
I don't lose hope, I still have a lot of little gems to play on the waiting list, hehe.Regards!!

Madre mia GTA3 the first in 3rd person was the game that I put the most hours into back then, it was a milestone, I knew the maps by heart, even the cheats came out by themselves XD, that of taking a tank and turning the cannon to propel yourself was the most fun jajaja and running away from fulanas and then keeping the money if you can is a classic.
Age of empire 2 and command & conquer red alert 2 are of the oldest games that I still play today, if games like this still give you fun today it is because they did something really well.
Then there were campaigns that I liked a lot the one from call of duty modern warfare, that sniper mission is a blast, I wonder if I will replay it one of these days and the pripyat area with that mythical shot was also good.
-
Age of Empires 2 and GTA3, long live!!!
And Flat Out is also a marvel, especially the 2, I loved the demolition derbies :ugly:
We must add Vice City and San Andreas, apart from GTA IVOf course, I am replaying Tomb Raider 3 again, although I have played for two days and I only have Antarctica left :ugly::ugly::ugly:
We will have to dust off 1 and 2, as well as 4 and later ones, I still have some time some nights
It is essential to replay all the carmaggedons, as well as Quake II and maybe I will get back into the Monkey Island escape, a delightful adventure worth playing at least once a year xDD
Well, and some time for Need for Speed and Test Drive Unlimited would also be necessary…Come on, did someone say grandfather cebolleta? And I am one of the young ones in the forum... xDDDD
Greetings gamers!

I'm playing Borderlands II right now, the first one seemed like a great game to me, and this one promises. My poor baked laptop is suffering, but at 720p it runs

-
I played borderlands 1 but I didn't finish it and I left it halfway to see if I reinstall it and I will probably get 2, the truth is that they have their funny side.
By the way, mass effect games are entertaining, I bought 3 and I still have to finish it. -
I have 2 halfway through, and seeing that the trilogy is coming out soon, I'm "afraid" that my saved game won't work, and anyway, I don't have 3, so I'd rather see if my saved games work for the full pack. Anyway, I'm terrified of the ending of 3, they've been talking about it so much that I don't know what we might find, but it's definitely nothing good. A shame, because the story isn't bad at all.
-
I'm already old for games :troll: But I reinstalled BF3 and it's entertaining from time to time, and above all, the one that still entertains me after years is Team Fortress 2. I find it fun to play when I don't know what to play.
Of the latest things I bought, I liked Alan Wake and I'll play the expansion in a few months. I also liked Metro 2033, although I thought it would be longer.
I'm waiting for Far Cry 3, I hope it's like the first one, because I didn't like the second one very much. I'll buy Max Payne one day when it's cheap, because I had the previous two and they were very entertaining too.
The Call of Duty Saga… :wall: well, it doesn't really appeal to me anymore. I have the previous one around, I left it halfway through the game because of boredom... <:( maybe one day I'll install it.
Of all the games I've played over the years, I have fond memories of Return to Castle Wolfenstein, but then when they released the next part a few years ago, I found it to be a fucking mess, you'd go through places repeatedly and the bad guys you just killed would be there again... like in Far Cry 2, a shitty game because there weren't as many open maps as in the original which blew my mind at the time.
The truth is, it's either because of my age or because I get tired of console games, but I'm finding games less and less appealing. In their time, I loved the need for Speed, the first ones, but the sequels... :wall: I stayed with the Porsche which blew me away, what came after was too arcade for my taste.
Wow, that's a lot of crap I've just said...

After the shock of combining trying out Crysis 2 and BulletStorm, I ended up lying in a corner with the straitjacket on, crying out to the heavens, that I would never play anything new again.
Only the inner reflection, and a good few hours revisiting my beloved Baldur's Gate (installed directly on Win7 x64, and it works perfect :sisi: ), could work the miracle, which added to many other hours in La Zona, allowed me to recover the appearance of conventional humans :ugly:
As this thing of age, it seems that at least in my case, makes you more grumpy and cantankerous, there are few games that manage to pass the initial filter, and become considered as candidates to play them :ugly:, so for the moment, I waste time on various flash games, each one more simple and casual, or if I have time, I plan some afternoons to enjoy some classic, with the certainty of enjoying the scarce time, that can be dedicated to this digital leisure.

When I was 20 and in university and smoking weed and playing 24/7 I thought that at 30 all that would be behind me…
Now I'm 30 and the truth is that things haven't changed that much: as Fassou says it's harder for games to pass the initial filter but I still enjoy it like a kid, even though I play much less
Right now I'm getting into, little by little, :
- Batman Arkham Asylum
- Crysis 2
- Duke Nukem forever
- BF3
- Diablo 3 (which I'm dedicating the most to at the moment)
I have on reserve Alan Wake, which I bought recently, and Rage, for the sake of reminiscing about the old times of Doom and Quake, although I don't think it will fill me as much.
Meanwhile I hope the price of Max Payne 3 drops, it's at 50$ on steam and I can't spend that much. The Max Payne saga, along with the TR saga, is the one I've enjoyed the most in my gaming life, I'm afraid that MP3 will disappoint me, as FarCry2 did (I think that around here you haven't commented anything about the new Max Payne), but even so I'll get it to see how it is...
Regards!

I've been playing quite a bit lately and only BF3. I'm waiting for the final version of Steam for Linux to come out, because that would encourage me to play more. The mere fact that I have to restart my PC to Windows 7 to be able to play often takes away my desire, and this way it's impossible to play a short game of anything to relax or rest for a while.
On the other hand, very occasionally I play LAN games like Age of Empire 2, Starcraft, Unreal, Counter Strike 1.6... But this is very sporadic and less and less.
As for my view of games, the fact that it's an industry that surpassed the cinema in revenue a long time ago says it all. Before, games had a completely different style, from small studios and, sometimes, even created by a group of colleagues. Now almost everything is "Hollywood" megaproductions, something that makes a lot of rubbish come out and very occasionally something interesting. Before it was relatively easy to keep up with the subject of games and now it's impossible to know even half of what is sold.
That said, when Steam comes out for Linux, my more playful vein will very likely return.
-
That being said, there is always hope that some new games will manage to fall in love with us, although it is becoming less and less likely <:(
Some preselected ones are: Dishonored, Bioshock Infinite, Dead Space 3, Metro - Last Light, Legend of Grimrock (if they ever release it in Spanish), The War Z, The Last of us, Wasteland 2 …

These are the games I have on steam plus about 52 in boxes, some even sealed, I would have games for years and that's not counting the ones I have "for free" and the EA ones XD

Most are compulsive purchases, you know, just €5, then this one and that one, and the bill just keeps going down ¬¬

The truth is that Steam is a temptation when you see some offers. I don't have as many as Tecnho, but I have a huge collection. The truth is that since last Christmas and in summer promotions and Holy Week and some specific cases, I have bought a lot of games.
Especially packs like Flatout (with its 4 games), or the Doom pack with all its games, etc... a delight.I bought GTA III and Max Payne 1 and 2, and except for MP1 I played both and enjoyed them like a kid.
I also have some free ones from promotions, etc. Then in terms of modern games, today I started with Metro 2033 and I'm loving them. And it cost me about 5€ in a last Christmas offer

Anyway, at first I was reluctant to digital purchases, but when they put packs at 10 euros... one can't resist!!
Sylver, how great are the Tomb Raider
I have TR3 pending because I only played it once... and years and years ago.
I recommend that in December you follow the two calendars they put out for Christmas levels of Tomb Raider, you'll love it... really. Make the effort because it's a very fun way to start Christmas
-
the metro gave me a pleasant surprise I bought it for 2.5€ thinking it was like stalker which is a great game but I'm rubbish at those games and I don't have the patience, but I think it's one of the best games for years, and I want it to be better rated and I speak I'm rubbish at these types of games and I get bored with tetris games. -

Saludos!!

Well, while waiting for Assassins' Creed 3, I'm playing Commandos 2 and CSS. In the latter, I found a curious server with an exchange of experience for levels that is very addictive and I practically only play on that server, although I miss the one from Cobito …
