[Tip] Intel 775 platform update
-
I think the change is worth it.
You can find Q9550 second-hand for just over €100. In fact, I've seen them sell for €120 recently.
The 470 GTX is second-hand for around €80-90
Add to that that you can get around €35-40 for the 4870 and the same for your micro (I think a bit more)
So the change would cost you €150 - about €80 = €70
I think it's a good change. It depends on the resolutions you play at too. The Q9550 with OC at 3.4 is still a decent micro. The GTX 470 still holds up well. All that is if you want to play at Full HD, then in BF3 I can't guarantee you'll manage it. I play at 1280*1024 and play BF3 with everything on high with plenty to spare on maps of 64 people.
Well, the equipment in my signature is similar to what you'd be left with, and it's not a powerhouse, but it holds its own with games.
If you change to an I5 platform. Well, a powerful micro (to notice a good change) goes for about €200 + A card for about €90-100 + 8 Gigabytes of memory for about €40-50. Change €350 minus what you get for your components... you'd be left with a change of more than €250-260.
In your case, if you don't want to spend much, I would make that change. Then in the future you can build a more powerful card and finally when even the card doesn't make the equipment perform well, change platforms. I'm the type to stretch the platform and change the card until the equipment is no longer sufficient.
Another option is to buy them components and resell them... :ugly: It sounds cheesy but I assure you that for a Q9550 + 470 GTX you can get more than €150 today :troll: You sell your components and you would change platforms for about €200 or a little more. ;D
The only thing is that BF3 runs better with more than 4 Gigabytes, but I with 4 and Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits I move it very well but I already told you that at low resolution, even so at higher resolution it would still run decently, except at Full HD with everything on high which I doubt it could run it well.

I understand that it is a change plus 150 bucks

it's not a bad change, you'll have to do a little O.C. to the micro so that the graphics work in the games

I understand that it is a change for 150 euros
regardsA caviar change? :ugly:
Sorry, I've had a couple of beers.

I understand that the friend asks for 150 for the two components, which I think is a price below the market, a very good price and more selling his components. I think he refers to whether it is worth the change of components, that is, buying them from the friend.
Anyway, let him confirm it to us.

Let's wait for confirmation.
But I understand 150 + his components. t

Let the nonsense stop and then throw a tantrum with the €150, right? :alone:
Sorry  I'm on my third

:

For 150 bucks you can get a decent new GPU or a pickle like GTX 560ti2 or higher second hand
At Fun or similar.
If it's as I say, if it's as you say it's a good change.
Regards and on to 4 -
Hello and thank you for your responses!
It's only 150€ for both components, that is, my graphics card and processor are still mine, they are not included in the transaction.
Before making the change, I looked a little at "the market", but I have no idea where and how to start selling my components. The E8400 is in perfect condition, it has never given me any problems, and the HD4870 is the same.
Regarding what a Battlefield 3 colleague was saying, I play at 1024x1078 with almost everything on "high" except I think shadows or terrain in the middle and AA at 2x. Playable on maps of no more than 40 people (and by playable I mean about 30 frames on average, with some ups and downs, obviously). I hope to correct the latter with this purchase, if it goes through. I have a BenQ LCD from a few years ago that, although old, with that resolution as long as it runs smoothly, I don't complain. I'm a graphics purist but if there's no money, you have to make do with what you have.
So, is it a good deal? I hope it doesn't go up in price. At first, he asked for 200€, but then he told me that for 150€ he was done. And the offer is still going up.

for that price it's good, as your colleagues say, the other option is to get a second-hand graphics card for that money and later change the platform. regards it's a matter of looking http://www.ebay.es/itm/AMD-6950-XFX-2GB-EDICION-XXX-/221158155832?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_186&hash=item337e0da638 -
Considering that for that price it is a good deal, I would buy the components and test them. Are you happy with the change? Great. Do you want more? Well, you sell them. You may realize that with just the 470 GTX you already perform as you want, so you sell the micro, just to give you an example.
Think that for those components today you get more than 150€. I think you would be around 200€.
Where? If you don't know where, you always have Ebay, just to give you an example.
Putting a powerful graphics card on a Dual Core is not very interesting. Most games today take advantage of more than two cores.
I play with my signature team as I tell you at 1280*1024 Everything in high details, without filters, and depending on the map I have averages of about 50-60 frames by eye. Rarely do I see it drop below 35-40 so I don't notice slowdowns. Now people who need 60 frames to play comfortably will come out :ugly: but I'm fine as long as I maintain averages of more than 30 and with my team I'm more than enough at that resolution.
Before I had an Ati 4770 and BF3 at 1024 I moved it in medium details, but with considerable drops. It was to put the Ati 5850 and a brutal change in BF3. The Ati 4770 is similar to an Ati 4850, slightly inferior to yours.
Think that you will have a team like mine, the 470 GTX performs similar to my graphics card, the only thing is that it consumes a lot, otherwise it's a nice graphics card and to play at the resolution you indicate you will be more than enough.
As I say if you try and it doesn't work for you... you sell the components, you won't lose money, I assure you.
