      Hello everyone ^^

I'm thinking about upgrading my graphics card and monitor. The monitor is already clear, a PHILIPS 237E4QHAD/00, but the graphics card is not.
The resolution I would play at would be 1920x1080. Would 1GB be enough or would I already need 2GB? I've always thought that this is pure marketing, but well…
I've looked at the Sapphire HD 7850, specifically this one: Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 Dual-X 2GB GDDR5 11200-07-20G Graphics Card

How do you see it? Any other suggestions?

      Best regards and happy Easter!

For an additional €4 you have the same model with OC, but if they restock the Zotac GTX660 with 5 years warranty, it will also be a good option.

For playing in Full HD, better than 1 Giga. With a Giga you can play depending on the game, but if you put some filter or details to the max it may be insufficient. Nowadays it is worth going for a graphics card with 2 Gigas.

Well, it's there for 185€, but I would buy it on Amazon for 177€.
I don't want to put OC on it, I only do it on the micro, but well, if it's much better, then okay.
Ok, I'll get the 2gb one then.

I would get the Sapphire 7870 from pccomponentes (€199 + shipping). If you want to save a few euros, Amazon has the Sapphire 7850 2GB for €175.

Thanks Obione, that's the one I had in mind.
The thing is that some don't recommend the 2gb one, they give me reason in that sense (in the 1gb ones the max resolution is 2500). Others don't recommend Sapphire (better asus, which is the one I've always had, or gigabyte). What a mess :S

Another thing. I have a 450W power supply, it doesn't have many W but it's pretty good. Should I buy a new one too? Right now I have an HD 3870 Top.

                Regards!!

Hello, I'm back ? I found this post:
                  Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 Dual-X de un 1GB o la de 2GB
                  And inside, this link:
http://www.pixmania.com/es/es/12784835/art/sapphire-technology/radeon-hd-7850-dual-x-1-g.html Is Pixmania okay? I never bought from there. I've always used to buy from pccomponentes and lately they've been disappointing me a lot. It's cheaper there even than on Amazon. Best regards!

The price is good and it's not a sin to go for the 1GB one but 2GB is a future bet. In Skyrim for example, it's noticeable with mods at 1080 and Metro 2033 that still has more time also appreciates the memory. In short, there are not many games but if you can afford it, the 7870 seems like a good option to me. If you prefer to save a few euros, then get that 7850.

No no, if I am the first one who likes to invest, but I thought that the only way the difference would be noticeable is if they were higher resolutions, and since I'm not going to change my monitor... but anyway, I bought the 2gb one.
By the way, I find the 2gb model in that store with very different prices. What is it due to?

Sapphire is a good assembler and at good prices although there have been some small problems lately but well, no manufacturer is exempt from failing.

Gigabyte is okay but it will only get you a 7850, MSI TwinFrozr and Asus DQ II are also good models although Gigabyte has released some interesting models and be it said in passing, it has also had problems.

In short, I would get the Sapphire 7870 as they can all blow up and the warranty is for something.

The thing is that I am also asking on another forum and 50 have come out telling me that Sapphire is crap, and of course... it's suspicious.
I honestly can't give my opinion because I have always had Asus, but just in case, we should consider another different assembler. I know that Asus is out of my price range, but still, if it's worth it in performance, I could go down to 7850 or to 1GB and get a better one, don't you think?

That's what your fellow Franziskaner tells you... absurd manias
Here, most of the forum members have Sapphire graphics cards and they work perfectly for us, always.

That's like the case of the person who buys two OCZ power supplies (a good brand) in their life and both end up failing, either because they coincidentally came defective or because they had a voltage problem at their home. What will happen to that user? Well, they won't want to see an OCZ power supply again, and the one who has had problems with ASRock motherboards might feel the same way, and the one who has had problems with Sapphire, three quarters of the same thing.

Here, most Sapphire users can tell you that it's a good assembler. Then it depends on which forum you like more, who you trust more, what sensations you have, etc, etc. But just as we can recommend Sapphire as an assembler, we can recommend MSI, XFX, Powercolor... as far as each one's experience goes.

                                        Regards

                                          I understand...

Well, in principle, I don't want to spend more to pay for a brand. The MSI R7850 TwinFrozr 2GD5/OC is fine (I already had to look at another brand as well), but it's €11 more than the Sapphire that I put there and I don't know if it will really be worth it or not.
If not, then I think one of the links I put would not be bad, since you are telling me that you have Sapphire and it works well for you.
Although I must say, that just as one buys a product from a brand and it turns out to be bad due to bad luck and no longer recommends that brand, the opposite can also happen, that someone who buys something from a not-so-good brand gets a good one by luck and then recommends it.

I want one that has good heat dissipation. The summers in Córdoba are noticeable. I don't care as much about the noise as I do about the Tº.

Because I tend to be short on words about certain things.
My first graphics card (bought) was a power color agp, the second one a sapphire 1950 pro. It's mounted on my brother's computer, and it's working fine. The next one was a GTX280, which was supposed to be retired. None of them have given me any problems, but on motherboards I could make Asus give birth, but as I'm honest I say it was my fault for burning a DDR2 and the damn card, things of him OC and being silly with the Asus program. About the graphics... Look at a comparison of temps.huye from the "turbina" ones and that's it.
