well, in a contest:
1st paperweight
2nd isolating the interior part, flower pot for a cactus
3rd container for the sweets
4th ashtray
5th throwing weapon in a handle:
P.D. in any of the cases, we throw the printed circuit and other things in a "green point" according to the source, the fan is useless because they are too noisy, we can keep the connectors for some repair.

I salvaged the fan from a generic power supply that blew up a long time ago and put it to full blast on the PC2 in front, like a Back to the Future mod, and it sounds like a fucking Boeing 747 turbine, but I have the PC turned into an igloo today xD

Years ago I reused the 80 and 40 fans, the 120 ones …. If a decent 120 fan is worth 8 leuretes as a minimum, then let's say that in a generic FA of 20 leuretes I don't expect anything reusable, at most the connectors, to make thieves or custom cables.
To test fans with reobus it also serves by bridging the FA but little more
In the end the problem is always the same, people buy generics out of ignorance or because the seller is a guy who doesn't have a clue or because he doesn't have..... A long time ago they foisted a FA on me in a tower? I don't think it deserves that name, and in the same store another generic one for an AMD x2 and a 1950 pro....
But we are used to worse things, like the kid who had the CPU cooler mounted very, very badly (it was dissipating the HOT AIR generated by the CPU )
