Different sizes

Hello, I would like to expand the RAM, I have two modules of 4gb total 8gb, can I put two more in the two free slots but of 8gb each? total would be 24gb I read somewhere that it is not convenient to mix different sizes of memory. Thank you :osvaisacagar: -
no no it is not recommended to mix memories of different sizes, brands, references. In short, the ideal thing is that they are identical to save you problems.
P.D. look that your M.B supports 24 GB

Well, without more data it will be difficult to answer that question. Basically because depending on the platform, the motherboard itself will no longer support that amount of RAM. Tell us what your equipment is and we can advise you.
It is true that if you mix different models of RAM, with different speeds, latencies, etc., the chances of failure multiply exponentially when putting them in Dual Channel.

+1 to everything already mentioned by the colleagues, and I add that at most, I would only add another 2x4Gb, after checking the motherboard specifications, in case it does not support all that memory, although it should a priori.

As always, I agree with my colleagues, more than anything you always have to agree on speed/size/latency, it is clear that everything is possible and if you put together RAMs from different manufacturers sometimes it works but sometimes you have to
manually configure the motherboard and you end up having to go crazy with the latencies/voltages for everything to work correctly.I myself am going to do the test with the GSKILL from PC1 and combine them with those from PC2, since I hardly use the 2 anymore and the large DDR2s come out expensive compared to DDR3, but speaking of DDR3 and with the prices that are out there, I wouldn't take a chance.
