Well, that's it, I saw that for FarCry 3, I can play it but it stutters as if it were missing some RAM, with the GTS250 (talking at 1920x1080), I wanted to get the HD7870 Ghz Edition for Christmas, but we have only managed to collect:
      • A perfume
      • A coat.
      • A toiletry bag.
      • 120€ xD and have much more available now (difficult as I am without work and have to maintain a gas-guzzling car).
So I'm looking for a graphics card with DDR5, and 2GB but of course the ideal one is the 7850 (because I see the 7770 as weak, right?) Does anyone out there who can lend me a hand? Thanks in advance.

Well yes, I see the 7850 before the 7770… or sell the coat and stretch for the 7870 ?

I recently built a system with a 7770, but I couldn't get the most out of it to be able to recommend it. Anyway, I vote for stepping down to the 7850 before the 7770.
In theory, the 7850 should be 35% more powerful than the 7770, with more consumption, of course.

          Best regards

In the end we reconsidered and see if we can stretch for the 7870 Ghz from PC Componentes for 199€ to see if we get lucky, otherwise we'll have to wait another year ?

I also recommend the 7870 with 2 Gigas. If not the 7850. The 7770 seems expensive to me for what it delivers. It delivers similar to a 5850 that was sold at PC components for 90 almost a couple of years ago. The refurbished one, I know, but the performance is what matters. Paying what they ask for a 7770 seems expensive to me considering the 7850 above it that delivers a good % more.

Anyway, what PC is it going to be mounted on? You will need at least a Quad Core 775 well overclocked to get the most out of it.

It is still a competent computer and you can overclock the graphics, and if you can do some overclocking on the micro, even better.

The truth is that a Quad 775 is ideal at least, but I have the experience of a cousin of a friend of mine who had an E6450 (I think), and an 8800GT that broke and he installed some HD7850 (1GB) for 140€ (from work) and the man is over the moon.
Certainly he won't get 100% out of the graphics, but what a change.

That said, with the Q9550 he will get good use out of it, I think so. Probably at minimums you would notice a better micro more, but I think it's a great investment for the future.

                        Regards!!

I will mount the 7870, if everything goes well in the end with the PentiumMMX at 166Mhz, that one will really get its money's worth and will give Techno a run for its money eh xD

Well, comparing the price of a refurbished to a new one, it's pretty unfair, don't you think?... Refurbished cards cost MUCH less than new ones, after all, they are second-hand cards and besides, they were defective and have been repaired...

Yes, that's true, that's approximately the performance of a 7770, but I don't consider it bad at all... it's around 100€ (around 120 if you go for a VaporX)... it was very expensive for what it offered, but currently it's very good, it delivers more than a GTX650, and costs the same... it delivers almost what a GTX650Ti delivers, and costs a good bit less... I see it as good, in fact, I decided on it in my price range.

                            Regards.

                              Hello:

That's why I was saying that it delivered the performance, without considering other aspects, amen that more than one got a Frog, but if that card came out good for you, it was a good buy. Mine will be just under a year old, I bought it second-hand and for what my computer is, it performs well, when I bought it the 6850 cost about 40€ more and performed less.

That doesn't mean that for a new computer or for an upgrade I prefer something more powerful. The 7770 in Full HD is not overused and that's why I recommend something more expensive but that performs better. Or put another way, if today I were still using my Ati 4770 which was the previous one, I would upgrade to a 7870 - 7850 (if I couldn't afford the 7850) but I wouldn't buy anything inferior, and that doesn't mean that the inferior performs much less, but I prefer to spend a bit more that in the long run I know that this power will come in handy.

If the equivalent in Nvidia performs similar to a higher price it's another story. In general Nvidia in the low or mid range has worse prices, except for rare exceptions.

Despite that the 7770 is a good card, I'm not saying the opposite.

                              Regards.

P.D.: the 2 gigs will also be appreciated in the future, that's why I don't recommend the 7850 with 1 Giga, because to save you 20€ in the future you might miss that extra giga. Despite that, except for some specific game when you put filters to the max, any game in Full HD with a good card of 1 Giga moves well.

Well, I had the 7770 for a while and the truth is that the graphics are average when I tried it with Far Cry 3, when it ran it seemed to take a little while to get to the frame rate, note that I'm talking to you about a new, unused ATI card and at configurations of 1920 x 1080. In conclusion, if your options are those two, I recommend the 7870, and also a crossfire later on to use its potential to the max.
