      Hello:

I have had this router from Ya.com ARV7518PW for almost two years and everything has been fine. Well, my brother called me saying that his router wasn't working (he has the same one). At first, the Wifi wasn't working but the network and the phone were. Now only the phone works, connected to the router, but neither the network nor the Wifi. It's without Internet.

I brought the router home, plugged it into my computer… and I'm working from the same router. The internet works by cable, but not the Wifi. The light is off. So I don't know how:

      1º activate the wifi

2º be sure that if I activate the wifi it will work for my brother. It bothers me that he can't get the network to work and I can. I should say that my brother has two routers... they sent him two by mistake, and the same thing happens with both. He talked to Ya.com and they told him the problem was with the computer :troll:

I saw in the instructions that to enter the configuration it was with: http://192.168.2.1/ and then password 1234 but I can't get into my router or my brother's :ugly:

He needs it because he has been without Internet for several days and he uses it for work.

Consequently <:( Any ideas if I can get into the router's configuration? My idea was to see how my router was configured and apply that configuration to my brother's router, but since I can't get into either one, that's a bad solution.

I should say that routers are not my thing :llorar: I contract Internet and the router stays as it is until I change providers :fumeta:

Any suggestion will be listened to ;D and although I work during the day, I connect at night, so let's see if there's any luck and someone comes up with something to do.

If I don't fix it, I can leave my router to my brother and if it works for him he can keep it, and I'll take his and therefore stay without Wifi ¬¬ until I fix it.

Thanks and sorry for the blabber.

PD 1: I've done a reset and it stays as if nothing happened. The WLAN light stays off… :wall:

PD 2: with the password "admin" I manage to get into the router ;D I activate the Wifi that was disabled :llorar: the light turns on, but the Wifi doesn't work. Mostly because with the mobile it keeps putting "authenticating..." and it stays there and then goes to the "disconnected" status :resaca:

I'm going to bed as it's after 2 in the morning and I'm exhausted. If the router gives me a hard time, it's going to the garden of my house by going through the window :frio:

Have you configured the wifi security? You can leave it without security, to check if it really fails or if it is simply a bad configuration of the protection, which I would bet on it.
A proof of this is that the mobile detects the network and tries to connect to it. If the mobile is an Android, you must configure the type of protection that the network has (WPA,WPA2) and the correct password.

As a desperate measure... or not.. I tell you that I have 3 or 4 routers here from Ya.com (one of them I think is the one you have) that I will not use because I have changed company. If you want them, they are yours.;D

          Best regards.

To reset, try holding the reset button with the router turned off. Hold it while turning it on and keep it pressed for several seconds until you see some unusual change in the lights.

Recently, Ya.com is owned by Orange and they have updated the firmware of some routers remotely. There may be a problem with that model.

              Hello:

First of all, thank you very much for your help. In the end, I did the following by following your advice.

              1º a Reset.

2º I went into the settings and removed the password from the wifi, leaving it open.

              3º it worked

4º I put a password back on it and it kept working.

Mysteries of nature but by doing that it got fixed. My brother already has a working router, let's see if it holds up this weekend and lasts, I hope so.

              Thanks again.
