A future AMD Radeon HD 8950 is leaked in the latest Catalyst drivers.
-
Among the various models supported by the new Catalyst 13.1 WHQL drivers are various models from the 800 range, although most would be rebranded HD 7000 and 8800 and 8900 in their OEM version, however the Radeon HD 8950 appears as an independent model so it seems that it won't be long before we can see the new range of AMD graphics cards.
This high-end range will have a "Curacao" chip in the HD 8950 and HD 8970 models intended to be the company's highest-performance models, replacing the current HD 7900. In the Catalyst 13.1 configuration files we can also see an id for the new ASUS ARES II, a dual GPU model made up of two 7970 GHz Edition presented at CES 2013.
The new Catalyst 13.1 WHQL Drivers are now available for download and introduce various performance improvements for the HD 7000 graphics based on chips with GCN architecture.

It's interesting to know, although I suspect the new drivers won't help with my recently patched crossfire issue of the 5850 xtreme...
I'll leave here the notes on the improvements that this latest version of Catalyst includes: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalystSoftwareSuiteVersion131.aspx
By the way, why haven't you linked directly to the AMD/ATI website?
Thanks for the contribution :sisi:

Well, confirmed gentlemen, the catalyst 13.1 resolves the scaling problem that HDMI monitors suffered from with ATIs, in addition to perfectly supporting crossfire. Furthermore, it solves numerous incompatibility issues with older games that failed on Windows 7 due to conflicts with earlier versions of the driver. ¡Saludos!
