On February 15 Microsoft will disconnect the servers that host the still existing online matches of Halo 2 for PC. The reason is obvious: after 6 years, the number of users is too scarce to continue maintaining them.
After reviewing it, Microsoft observed that a maximum of 20 users per month connected to said servers to play. It is time to say goodbye to an online mode that closely follows that of Halo 2 for the first Xbox, which a couple of years ago made news for the resistance of 12 users to stop playing online.
It seems entirely logical that after all these years the online mode of the first parts of this franchise is left behind, and more so with other more recent titles like Halo 4 or Halo Reach. The merit of Halo 2 is that it is the only one in the saga that was maintained for compatibles, but as we say, that will end in the middle of next month...

Original Source: Fudzilla.comI never tried the Halo multiplayer, perhaps too much saturation of multiplayer games in the market, for my taste, so you don't have time for more than you can handle.
Anyway, there weren't too many users of this game... but if they left the option open to be able to create matches on lan, something that many games today don't have, these things wouldn't happen... and it seems that this will probably affect more games that are so capped to be able to play on the local network, or create private dedicated servers.Greetings!!

For me it is a saga that I like a lot and I have the first ones for PC unfortunately for the rest I got an xbox to play them and the multi is very entertaining but for console it gave me the creeps to play it, it is a shame this saga is not complete and optimized for PC.
