[Questions] Memory for Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L
-
Hello, it's been a long time since I touched the hardware topic and the truth is that I would like to know if buying this, it would be worth it for this same board that is mentioned in this thread:
According to the specifications of this board on the manufacturer's website, it supports up to 4GB of RAM, and PC1066 (O.C)/800/667 MHz. The issue of the speed at 1066 would have to do some overclocking on the motherboard to achieve that frequency?
- Option 1 (pack of 2 for 61 euros without gi):
G.Skill Performance DDR2 1066 PC2-8500 4GB 2x2GB F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK RAM Memory
- Option 2 (2 units for 56 euros without gi):
Corsair Value Select 2GB DDR2 800 VS2GB800D2 RAM Memory
Which option do you recommend buying?
Best regards and thanks for the help.

Look for a 2x2GB DDR2 800 CL5 and 1.8V memory pack from a well-known brand at a store in your area, and you save on shipping.
If it has to be necessarily between the two that you put, I would buy the Corsair Value Select 2GB DDR2 800
Regards!

Oido cocina, thanks for your reply and help.
PD: How strange, I would have sworn I hadn't created a post and had written in one where the topic is discussed, but well, maybe I made a mistake in reviving a thread from 2 or 3 years ago.

Indeed, it was wrong…
I also agree with Fassou, if you can't buy some in a physical store, I would put the Corsair, that's what you save.

I am taking advantage of this post to ask if there is any problem in installing a Gigabyte GA-G41MT-D3
(DDR3-10600 - Non-ECC)
General - GA-G41MT-D3 (Rev. 1.3) - G41 - Chipset Socket 775 - Motherboards - GIGABYTE
these two modules:
Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB (2x4GB) Memory Kit DDR3 1333MHz Non-ECC CL9 240-pin DIMM.
they are 1.5 volts but would they work with underclocking?they are more economical than a DDR3 10600
Best regards

It's a lottery, because that motherboard might refuse to recognize them, but on the official list there is a 4GB model and others from 2GB to 1600, so it could work, but you only have one way to know.Salu2!
PD: A motherboard with a single version of BIOS :fuckyea:
