ATI releases UVD specifications

UVD, Ati's video acceleration technology has been free for a month, although there is still no documentation about it. The preliminary versions of Kernel 3.10 include the code released by Ati so that soon implementations will start to appear in playback software to free the CPU as much as possible when playing video. On the other hand "they say" that flash player will be able to use UVD through VDPAU, nVidia's API for video acceleration in Linux and that is the only one that the Adobe plugin can use for hardware decoding in Linux.
