What to do with a laptop that doesn't work?
-
Hello, I have an acer aspire 5740g whose screen broke, and I decided to buy a new one and leave this one as a desktop.
Well, today the old laptop stopped working.
Now I have a laptop, which doesn't charge with battery or connected to the network and I don't know exactly what's wrong, because not even a light turns on.
What do I do?
- Do you think it has an economical fix? It could be the motherboard, processor and who knows what else...
- Sell it by parts. Do you think it will have any market for parts?
I'll leave you a summary of the characteristics:
- Intel i5 430m
- 4GB RAM
- 320GB hard drive
- DVD burner
- Other components of a laptop: keyboard, plastics, touchpad...
Sl2!

Have you tested that the source works?

The problem with the Acer is that the monitor frame is made of plasticine and the hinges have a screw that is too hard, so as soon as you open and close it, you already have cracks in the plastic.
It is a matter of taking it to a decent place to ask for a quote.
If it is only a matter of changing the screen and the source, it can cost around 250 tracatracas with labor. If it turns out that the board is damaged, it is better to dismantle the units and the memory modules (hard drives are never a bad thing, no matter how bad they are), and the rest to a recycling center. -
The source works, I measured the voltage and it was correct and with battery neither. Before when I didn't have battery at least an LED would turn on.
Anyway, the safest thing is to disassemble it and try to get something out of it to buy a desktop that replaces it.
Thanks
