Duda connection monitor

Hello,

I have a regular Dell monitor connected to my PC via DVI.
In addition to the PC, I also use a MacBook Pro for work and sometimes I need to connect the monitor to it (via DVI to mini DVI adapter) to have an extended desktop.

Since the monitor has a VGA and a DVI output, my question is:

would it be possible to connect the monitor simultaneously to both computers (via DVI to the PC and via VGA to the Mac) so that it works with the one that is on at that moment? (I never work with both simultaneously).

hello. yes, I have had two PCs connected to the same monitor and changed with the monitor's buttons (DVI HDMI VGA). You can even have both PCs turned on and change at your convenience.

Well, that's it, with the input selection button you can change it, I used to do it when I had the PS3 in the room.

I do the same with my GW2750. I have the PC3 connected by VGA and the PC1 by HDMI. In addition, I have the KVM switch connected (it only has VGA output) and I change according to my needs, being able to use the same keyboard and mouse on both computers. It saves space above all.

As a curiosity, for example, my monitor has HDMI as the main output, so when I am using the PC1 that goes by HDMI, I press the switch button to change the input, the monitor continues to show the PC1 (HDMI) until I press the input change button on the monitor itself and select D-SUB (VGA).

However, when I am on the PC3 and I press the switch button to switch to the PC1, the image change is immediate, since the HDMI output prevails over VGA.
