I'm upgrading from 18, let's see if it works, it would be the first time… hehe. I'll tell you later if there are any significant changes.
Well, it has worked and there are visible new features:
- There is now a recent/all tab in the application menu.
- There are also groups of apps (replaces the side menu of application types), although I don't know how to modify them.
- It comes with an alternative menu to Gnome 2.
- Searches are more complete by first ordering apps as icons and then by groups in the list: if they are contacts, files, etc.
- Notifications on the lock screen.
- In the Files sidebar, "connect to server" is added.
- In settings, the following are added:
– Search, to configure what is included in searches.
-- Notifications, idem.
-- Privacy, to be able to delete histories, temporary and hide the name on screen.
-- Media sharing, to share multimedia and remote session.
Not much more, these new features still need to be polished, but it's on the right track.
PD. For those who want to upgrade: Upgrade from Fedora 18 to Fedora 19 without reinstalling (FedUp) ~ Xenode Systems Blog
PD2. My Cinnamon has also updated and either I hadn't noticed before or now it has widgets on the desktop and other gadgets…
