Problems installing a graphics card
-
Well, my problem is that a few days ago my graphics card broke and I decided to buy another one (obviously haha) and I bought an "xfx R7850 2GB Double dissipation" and my problem is that when I put it in the PC and start it up, it starts up perfectly but when it gets to the desktop it's almost impossible to do anything, I haven't even been able to install the card's drivers because it freezes and is excessively slow, I must say that the PC has come from Spain to Germany in a box "well protected" although a few months before it was also in a move and since then it hadn't started up, I don't know if it's just the graphics card that broke or if there's something else or simply something that isn't working well I don't know.
PC specifications:
Kloner 500w power supply
Intel core I3 2120
8GB of RAM
Motherboard, the one that came with me when I bought the tower is a "h-cupertino-h61-uatx"
500GB 7200RPM hard driveThank you very much in advance. Regards.

Will the source give enough? How many amps does it give for the 12v line?
-
well, as I see it, it gives 20A (sorry for questioning, but, if it were the source, wouldn't it have burned?) and again, sorry for questioning.
-
At my job we have those, and they are the ones that are like "I don't want to spend a cent". I mean, the font will be around €20 or a little more, very basic.
-
Hahaha yes yes, I don't argue with you about that because at the time I didn't have a cent for something better haha, I made do with the other previous card, but with this one I see that I can't. So, you advise me to buy another source, right?

-
I would put a better font, even if I didn't change the graphics, the security of all components goes through the font, if it's bad and it breaks... everything dies

In fact, right now I am going to buy a haha, but well, the hanging of the pc then is due to that? Or can it be due to something more?
maybe the motherboard does not support that much or I don't know.
thanks to everyone for answering. -
Man, come to think of it, that i3 might be a bit small for such graphics. However, it's not a bad micro at all, although the board is not a marvel either, let's say...
Best regards
-
well haha, the motherboard is the one that came with the pc when I bought it so… I guess the next thing I'll change will be the motherboard and later the micro =/ I'm not saying it has to be luxurious, but I think that since it's working for me it's not normal =/ maybe it takes 2 or 3 minutes to open my pc =/ and everything fails =/ that's why I haven't even been able to install the drivers =/
-
Something else must be wrong, because without use the graph does not reach the maximum at any time...

this is already a question, and what about this (Intel core i5 3570 and Asus P9X79) what I'm looking for is advice haha to know what suits me best and stuff. thanks for the help provided and for the future response. regards
-
I'm afraid you've mixed up a processor with a motherboard of a different platform in that doubt.
The processor is socket 1155 and the motherboard is socket 2011.

As you can see I'm not an expert haha, more or less what would you advise me? if that processor won't perform well then I'll have to go for an i7? =/ could you advise me in that aspect? thanks and regards.
-
well, as I see it, it gives 20A (sorry for questioning, but, if it were the source, wouldn't it have burned?) and again, sorry for questioning.
Supposedly it is enough, and if a source exceeds its limit, it doesn't have to burn. I don't know about the rest, have you tried with a linux live cd, to format, the disk will be affected by the move, have you checked that all the cables are connected to the board…
-
That processor you put (i5 3570) is already good, but as long as it goes on a board that supports it

An ASRock Z77 Extreme3 for example, or similar.

Where I live (Germany) I have looked and there are no specialized computer stores and there is one on the internet but it is very expensive, what there is is an electronics store that sells many things for pc and they have the motherboard that you tell me but the "extreme 4" that is "ASRock Z77 extreme 4" I suppose that this one is good no? That is, I could buy this one plus the i5 3570 -
I live in Germany and there are no specialized computer stores here, and if there are, I don't see them haha, but there is an electronics store that sells many PC components and I have seen that they have an "ASRock Z77 extreme4" that would be good, right? Because they don't have the "extreme 3", so intel core i5 3570 + ASRock Z77 extreme4. Will it be good?

Sorry for writing it twice but I'm on the mobile and it didn't show what I had written

If the cables are well connected, I'll check them properly before turning on with the new power supply. I haven't tried the Linux CD thing, and I've thought about formatting, but I need to back up everything important I have in there first
and I don't have anywhere to put it
In the end, I'll end up having the PC almost entirely new
haha
