Hello, I've been looking at cards to buy one, I want some specific models, can several manufacturers have the same model of card??? I've seen the nvidia gtx 260 with several names in different stores, in the name it's still 260 but the previous one is different in several stores, is it the same card??? Can it have different pictures with the same name??? Thanks.

nVidia does not manufacture graphics cards, only microchips.
It is the manufacturers of integrated components such as Asus, EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI, etc., who "use" the GPUs from nVidia (or ATI) for their products.
Hence, the same model varies so much in performance, price and/or quality.
It all depends on the manufacturer.
A pleasure to welcome you to the forum.

          Yes.

One thing is the manufacturer of the GPU (graphics processor) which can be Intel, AMD, nVidia, Matrox, Sis, PowerVR, VIA (S3)…

And another thing are the assemblers of graphics cards that use the graphics chips of the previously mentioned ones and that can be: AOpen, Asus, Club 3D, EVGA, Foxconn, Gigabyte, Matrox, MSI, Point of View, PowerColor, S3, XFX, Zotac, etc, etc, etc.

Although many manufacturers mount the same graphics chip, they can do it on a PCB of a different shape or different color and with the elements in different arrangements as well as different heatsink models. That's why, although they have the same graphics chip and ultimately offer the same performance, they will not only have a different physical appearance but some will make more noise than others, or they will get hotter or have the power and/or video connectors in different places.

ok. I also want to know if the high-end ones would work well with games and with password recovery software for rar files, on the websites of these programs they recommend some graphics but they are difficult to locate.

If you do not put the equipment you have, we will not be able to tell you if it will support a high-end graphics card well.

The description of my computer is as follows:

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition processor (3200.0 MHz)
                GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3 motherboard
                8 Gigabytes of RAM
                500W power supply
                500Gb hard drive

I want to spend up to 300€ and also change the power supply I have now, it is a 500W one, brand 3go and model is PS500s.

Well, that's it; change that power supply for a decent one of about 600W or 650W (Corsair, Seasonic...)

And for graphics, you can put for example this one: Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 WindForce GV-R795WF3-3GD Graphics Card

and between the one you told me and this other Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 OC 2GB GDDR5 - Graphics Card, which one do you recommend?

The 760 is a little faster, but the 7950 has 3Gb which is quite important for new games, which increasingly demand more VRAM. Either one will work well for you.

For password recovery programs, what data is the most important? Can two cards be placed in a computer at the same time to increase the calculation speed?

Well, I have no idea about the first one, I used the ARAR to repair rar files and extract them without a password, I have not needed graphic power, although I have had it.

As for the second one, yes, you can put several cards together (as long as the motherboard allows it) and thus you gain graphic performance, especially for games.

Did I extract the files from a compressed rar with a password without entering it?? I have tried several times with ARAR and it extracts files but they are damaged.

                              @miguelsat:

                              Saludos

it's not that I doubt you but it seems very strange that without knowing the password you can extract the files, I've tried it several times and it doesn't work, the only thing left for me is to try brute force that's why I need graphic power.

I don't know if it has something to do with compressing the "encode file names" option and maybe that's why it doesn't work with the arar, I'll try again now. My board has several pci express but 1x and 16 of different sizes but I don't think I can do more than 1. Well thank you very much for everything, now I just have to save a little, bye. ;););)

jeje if the price but it's not much of a difference, for the rest according to what I've looked at they are almost the same. What does CUDA cores mean? I've seen it on Asus GeForce GTX 660 Ti DirectCU II OC 2GB GDDR5 on the pc coste page which has a few more than the previous cards.
