      Hello.

For the past 3 and a half years or so, when my router from Telefonica broke, I bought a Linksys by Cisco model WAG54G2. Until now, I've had 6 megs and 0.5 upload and everything was perfect. But now, when I signed up for Fusion, they "upgraded" me to 10 megs download and I don't know exactly about the upload.

As in the first few days, I had (not serious) problems that I saw that apart from not reaching 10 megs, the direct download speed fluctuated between 690 and 770 kb/s or so. So I called 1004 and they finally opened a fault report for me. In total, talking to the technician from my central, he told me that due to the distance to the central, I wouldn't reach 10 megs, that I should talk to Movistar and they would let me keep the speed at 7 or 8 megs, whatever they thought would reach, which is why I had those speed peaks. In total, we did tests in the room where I have the computer and in the living room with my router, and in both places the noise margin with my router was ridiculous, then we tried putting the Telefonica router (as I have a fixed IP, I had to configure it manually) and the noise margin data in both places he said were normal (ruling out a fault in my line).

In total, as with the Telefonica router, so far I've only managed to get it to contact and sync with the central (from there it could do the speed, noise, attenuation tests, etc.) but I can't get my computer to connect to the internet, so yesterday I decided to look at the values that both routers give me. The Telefonica one exactly has noise margins that are normal, but my Linksys gives values that are ridiculous and I rule out having a fault in the internal home line since the other would also give bad values. So I think my Linksys is broken or something is wrong with it.

In summary, I had thought about buying a new one, but my doubt is as follows. I have a static (fixed) IP and encapsulation rfc1483 routed. So what router do you recommend that is good and can be configured with a fixed IP?

I accept suggestions, as I'm a bit lost in the networking topic.

      Regards

I edited because I just realized that the 2 options I put were neutral routers,:wall: and what I want is a router to connect to the internet directly with it.

Suggestions of brands and models ?
