Geforce Titan and 3d vision
-
Hello everyone! I have a question about the Geforce Titan and 3D Vision. It turns out that I had an SLI of the 560ti and when I changed it for a Titan, the result is the same or inferior with 3D Vision. Is it because with 3D Vision I use 1280x720 at 120hz and with that resolution not all the potential of the Titan is used and an SLI performs better? Does the Titan only stand out with high resolutions? The truth is that I am quite disappointed because my computer is an i7 at 3.4 GHz, 16 RAM, SSD drive and the only thing that can be a bottleneck is that the motherboard is not PCI Express 3.0 but I have read that from 2.0 to 3.0 it is not such a big difference. Anyway, my question was that, is an inferior SLI better for 3D Vision than a Titan alone or am I doing something wrong? Can anyone who has a Titan guide me? Thanks and regards!

To be honest, I'm quite disappointed because my computer is an i7 at 3,4 GHz, 16 ram, ssd disk and the only thing that can be a bottleneck is that the motherboard is not pci express 3.0 but I've read that from 2.0 to 3.0 it's not such a big difference. I don't have a Titan but I think it's a waste to put that graphics card for 720p, surely at 1680x1050 or 1920x1080 it should be noticeable much more.
for example, I have two 480s and if I lower the resolution to 1024p they don't work at full capacity anymore and I have a 920 at 4200 MHz, the graphics cards work with more unstable load, that graphics card should clearly perform better than an SLI of 560ti, more or less it should go like one of 580, but they are cards that are designed for higher resolution and if you put low resolution you have to raise the CPU as much as possible, that's why you should try raising the CPU to see if it improves the performance and monitor the GPU load to see how the card works.

Hi Rafgim, I do have a Titan, and I can tell you that the performance of a single one equals an SLI of 580, much more graphic than the 560. I don't have 3D, but if I play in surround and two of them like the ones I have are more than enough for any game…..
Titan is not built for small resolutions, obviously you should notice something, but I think that resolution and processor are limiting your Titan.
What processor is it?? Maybe by boosting it a little to 4Ghz, which is not difficult for i7s, you can get more out of that graphics card. At those resolutions, the frequency of processors matters a lot. But where you should try to change is the resolution, at least 1080p.
Best regards

I think he would have been better off buying a 780 and a 3D monitor that is now more economical, it would have cost him the same as the Titan and he would have made much better use of the graphics.
720p I think are for televisions, monitors already come at 1080p, also the Titan is already designed for higher resolutions even up to 1600p or three monitors and I think the 780 is somewhat better for lower resolutions, now when the 780Ti comes out it should also be somewhat better than the Titan at low resolution, but worse at high.

Hello! Thank you for the answers, I think you are right. The Titan with low resolutions does not work very well and the problem is that my 3D projector is only 1280x720 at 120Hz, so it has to reach 120 fps in games so that at least 3D vision is seen at 60 fps…for example Skyrim with the Titan and 3D vision at 1280x720 barely reaches 120 fps (60 per eye) with high quality and the SLI of 560ti does reach it and my processor goes to maximum too, in short I do not know if to sell it and put a lower SLI that works better at 1280x720...because another Titan in SLI would be a waste of money and resources if I am going to use them at 1280x720, right?

Totally, the problem is not in the graphic power.
Could you not upgrade that processor, to see if it's really limiting the GPU…??
