Hello everyone, I have set up, along with another partner, a small photography studio and we need "something" to be able to save backups of our work. After searching the internet, I have seen that what I need is a NAS, to be able to store our data from any place where we are, both of us, and also to be able to access it from anywhere, in order to show it to clients, etc.
We would use it basically as a support for photo storage. It would be useful to be able to show those photos and some videos on mobile devices, ipad, laptop, etc...
Looking at these products in some detail, I think that what would suit us best is a NAS with capacity for two hard drives. Within what I have seen, I have liked two:
- Synology DS214se, about 139 euros

As I have been able to see, it is one of the best brands. Very good quality and quantity in software. Processor somewhat limited.
-Zyxel NSA325, about 99 euros

In the tests I have been able to see, it stands out for its speed both when copying and reading, above other products at its price (including the synology). Very configurable and with good price, but a somewhat unknown brand. On the other hand, in Spain I have not found this exact model, but the version 2, the ZYXEL NSA325 V2, which is a little less ugly than the previous one (not much). Of the latter, I have found practically nothing on google (only a review in German where it seems to be somewhat worse than the first version, although the data have nothing to do with the analyzes of smallnetbuilder, which is supposed to be more reliable...)It would carry WD Red hard drives and would be next to my router in my living room, so the quieter it is... the better.
Does anyone know the Zyxel NSA325 V2? Is it better not to risk it and go for the synology even if it is a little more expensive and slower? Would I have any problem with the Synology to play those videos on mobile devices (it is not something basic, but if there is a possibility, it is good)? Does the synology have the "WOL" option to turn it on through the internet, which the Zyxel has (being two users, it is a bit silly that it has to be on all day every hour, and this way I would save myself having to turn it on and off manually every day)?
I hope for advice, thank you very much in advance.
I have also seen these other two options, although I have practically ruled them out, one for being, a priori, very bad (although very cheap) and the other for being very similar to the synology in everything:

Ah, and the Zyxel has a USB 3.0 port! -
Of all the brands you mention, I have only used Synology, specifically a couple of DS211+, and I can only praise them. I don't know how they are in terms of performance, because I have always installed them for backups outside of working hours, but they are very easy to set up and have never given me any problems, despite the power cuts in some cases.
The choice of disks seems to me to be absolutely correct as long as the budget allows it.
As for other brands, Qnap also has a good reputation.
Best regards.
