How to open the application (Catalyst) in "invisible" mode?
-
Hello everyone,
I have recently detected a very strange problem in HTPCs with A8 APUs if I install the Avast or AVG antivirus:
With Windows at 60 hz and the display program set to change the frequency to adapt to the video, when switching from the 60hz of the desktop to the 23.97 of the full screen mode, the videos have incredible stuttering.
This stuttering appears when one of the two mentioned antivirus programs is installed (I have not tried another yet), but the strangest thing about it is that it is solved if we open the Catalyst Control Center… yes, just by having it open the problem disappears!
I would like to be able to use these antivirus programs and for the videos to work well, but it looks very bad to put the Catalyst in the Windows startup, which comes out when it starts, and not being able to close it, only minimize it (if we close it the problem reappears).
I have tried in the properties that it appears minimized, but it does not work, although I would like to go "further", that is, I want Catalyst to open when Windows starts but not appear on the screen and not as an application that is running.
Would there be any way to do this?
Thank you very much

Try telling the antivirus programs not to monitor the viewing program, by putting it on a white list, excluding it from the scan or whatever it is for those antivirus programs.
Salu2!

Many thanks Fassou, I'll try it,
The strangest thing is that when Catalyst is open it doesn't crash, that's why I hadn't tried what you said before, haha.
It seems like the antivirus is messing something up, and when you open Catalyst it loads into memory and fixes it.
If I don't install antivirus it doesn't crash, and of course there's no need to open Catalyst.
Another thing is that if I set Windows to 23.97hz, that is, if the program doesn't have to make the change, it doesn't crash either.
Crazy as hell, let's go
Regards and thanks again, if anyone comes up with the idea of hiding the catalyst...
