Remove CPU from heatsink

Hello again, you see I want to put up for sale my old processor with the heatsink, the thing is I'm not sure if it's advisable to detach it from the heatsink and how it would be done so as not to damage anything.
The processor is an AMD phenom II x4 965 3,4Ghz, and its standard heatsink.

I would separate it from you and clean everything well, and if you have the original packaging, then the better the better

You'll see Clipper because to remove the cpu I had to pull the heatsink until everything came out

To detach the micro from the heatsink, use a medium or large flat screwdriver to apply a slight lever and break the vacuum.
This problem was very common with the P4 Socket 478, and some people tried to put it all back together :facepalm: and goodbye pins.

regardsYou can't remove the CPU without removing the heatsink, what must have happened here is that the CPU wasn't properly seated in the socket, if the CPU is properly seated in the socket the normal thing is that the heatsink comes off and then you remove the CPU with the lever that the socket has for securing.
Besides, it's not good to remove a CPU like that because it can bend the CPU pins and ruin it, it's always better to secure it well and when dismantling remove the heatsink and then unhook the CPU from the socket, new sockets especially Intel's you won't be able to remove the CPU stuck to the heatsink, these that go in like this with pins on the CPU are old sockets, anyway if the CPU is properly seated in the socket it's rare that it comes off like this stuck.

the truth is that since Socket 1/2 the last micro I took out as daniikki was a 486
about the screwdriver, I personally have always disassembled the heatsinks by pulling outwards and applying a left-to-right twist at the same time, if I see that it doesn't turn, I don't pull.

This is common in some 478 sockets as Fassou said and also in some 754 from AMD, it seems that at that time the "silicone" type thermal paste was used a lot which made the processor and heatsink into one block :facepalm:
It is supposed that the CPU cannot come out without first unlocking the socket, but it is not the first time I have seen a heatsink drag the processor stuck even with the socket properly locked due to these archaic thermal pastes…

The truth is that I thought that only the heatsink would come out, it was the standard one, which already came with thermal paste applied, or super glue because it is very stuck, when I removed it and everything came out and I saw the CPU anchorage, I was scared, I thought I had ruined the CPU or worse, the motherboard anchorage. Apparently I have not ruined anything, but next time I go to remove it I will have to make sure to remove the heatsink carefully first. Now on the CPU that I took out I will try to do what I have been told, a little lever with a flat screwdriver and see if I can peel it off…
