Hello everyone, since I bought the processor I thought about that option, but I kept putting it off and now that I recently acquired a new desktop I got curious.

The thing is that I am new to this overclocking thing, I experimented a bit many years ago, but not much, but now that I see that it is becoming more common every day and that some processors come prepared for it even I decided to try it.

I have been reading on the forum about it, but I am not very clear about what to increase and what not, my intention is to increase my 965 from 3.4Ghz to 4Ghz in my signature I have the characteristics of the equipment, the heatsink is Scythe Mugen 2

I would like someone to be able to guide me a bit about what would be an optimal configuration for that frequency and that does not raise the temperature too much, thanks in advance.

      At rest it marks 27-29º

hello look at some tutorial example:

in that it puts 1.54 in the Vcore that I remember the max is 1.45
        regards

Thanks, I'm looking at something here and there, but I'm not clear on what's best. I've only set the multiplier to 20x in the bios and it goes to 4Ghz with just that, and the voltage remains the same as far as I can see with Easy Tunes.

My big doubt is whether it's better to increase the Bus, the voltage and the multiplier a little, or just the Bus and voltage, or just voltage and multiplier.

I'm setting it up from the bios, but I'm checking it with EasyTunes

The temperature has gone up to 35º at rest

I followed the video and the truth is that I have no idea what voltage to increase in my bios, I put photos without touching anything to the voltage, that voltage is the same whether I increase the multiplier or not.

Reading and reading guides I have learned a lot, after experimenting I have decided to only touch the multiplier at x20 and the vcore at 1.4v which is where I find stability.

I have been testing the results with 3dmark vantage and it has improved quite a bit from when it was at 3.4Ghz to the current 4 Ghz, I thought the result would be less, but I am happy, I hope it remains stable like this.

At first I did not increase the voltage to the processor and with one of the 3dmark tests it would just restart, but it has been increasing it little by little until 1.4 and there without any problem.

The issue of touching the northbridge, the HT link and the bus with their voltages I have been playing around but I could not leave it stable, so I have decided simply for the multiplier and vcore and I am happy.

If anyone has any configuration that they think is better I would appreciate it, I have also increased the ram to 1600Mhz.
