It has been more than a year since netbooks disappeared from the scene. Since then, tablets are supposed to have filled their place and new gadgets like Asus's Bay Trail-powered Transformers have appeared that are quite similar to a netbook, albeit at a much higher price.
Intel has announced a new core for low-end machines and chromebooks called Braswell that is supposed to fill the gap below Bay Trails/Cherryview.
There are not many details, but everything indicates that it will be Intel's lowest range for home computers.
