Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X OC 4GB GDDR5 problem
-
Hello, good to everyone. A few days ago, I bought the graphics card that I put in the title, which has an excellent performance in games of this generation and the next. The thing is that I have not noticed very good results in terms of fps in games like Battlefield 4, Crysis 3, Tomb Raider,… with the ultra settings, it can't reach 60 fps, it stays at about 50-54 and sometimes even 40, not to mention most of the time.. I have been looking around the internet for benchmarks, friends who have this graphics card and so on, and they all say that the performance is incredible in terms of fps, temperature.. What could be causing my graphics card's performance in terms of fps to be so low? I have updated the drivers for the graphics card and motherboard just in case and nothing, it still has fps below what it should have.. Maybe someone of you has had a similar experience or something and can help me.. I leave you information about my computer in general in case it helps you. Thank you very much for everything

Curiously, in the forums I have visited, the problem of the 290 and poor fps is repeated, so the only thing that comes to mind when, according to you, "[…]everyone says that the performance is incredible regarding fps, temperatures[…]" is that they don't play with everything at the top, at the very least. (Edited) As for the temperature, I don't believe it in this one, precisely.
I have also read that, by changing from MANTLE to DX11 and restarting the game, the problem improves somewhat. -

Monitor the graphics load to see if it goes to 100%, you can even increase the CPU to see if you gain anything, because you say CPU-dependent games, that's the first thing I would check, that the graphics is working at full capacity, if in games like BTF4 or Crysis 3 the graphics is not working at full load, something is slowing it down.
Anyway, you won't be able to put much SSAA on Crysis 3, maybe with 2X it runs well, but that game can't have many of those filters with a single GPU.
