Windows 10 searches for and disables pirated video games Is Windows giving a gift and charging video game developers?
PD I already know that no one here uses illegal software
I just had a spasm in my sphincter when I read it, but after investigating a bit more, it turns out that this only affects games from Microsoft itself.
Windows can disable pirated Microsoft games - PC Gamer…I'm relaxing again. :ugly:

If you download the ISO from the Microsoft website (well, actually you download a program from which you create an installation USB or an ISO) you will have the system installed, but not activated, so it will not be 100% legal until you enter the corresponding serial.
On the other hand, what I have not tried is to enter the serial of a Windows 7/8/8.1 directly into Windows 10.From my Spectrum +2A with Windows 10
But is the installed system functional? Does anything happen if you don't activate it (besides losing -future updates I suppose)

What I think, after kicking around the net in several languages, is what we all suspect: what MS cares about is that you install W10 one way or another.
-
You already have a license? Well, you have a new OS for free.
-
You don't have one? Well, you sign up for free in the "Windows Insider" program, download the ISO that takes the most courage, and you already have a Windows Insider Preview license and a fully operational and activated W10.

Are you actually Guybrush Threepwood, valiant pirate? Well, take a look at this.

Well, today I upgraded to Windows 10 and my experience has been quite disappointing.
After installing, once on the desktop and after several minutes, it freezes and I get the screen with the message SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_ERROR in reference to the file igdkmd64.sys.
I tried several graphic drivers but nothing.
The good thing is that it allowed me to return to the previous operating system without major trauma, so whatever, good luck to those who do well, that's great.
I'll stick with my beloved W7 until I forget this. :wall:Edit: After looking and reviewing several pages with the same problem, I disabled the "IGPU Multi Monitor" in the UEFI because apparently the driver of the integrated one is the one causing the problem. Obviously it's a matter of poor drivers, since in W7 there was no problem.
Tomorrow if I have time and feel like it I'll give it another try, seeing how easy it is to return to your previous OS it's almost worth it. -
I'm already thinking that the only reason they don't say it's going to be free for everyone at once and clearly is that the people who bought Windows 8.x a month ago won't get mad at them.
-
Well, some people may have suffered with the W8 graphic interface and see this as compensation, and others may think that the interface was one of the best things MS has invented since Vista. To each their own...
By the way, it seems like I've solved the problem and I'm now using W10 without any major issues. That said, the windows are ugly as hell, but they'll probably come out with something to change them.
Regarding the issue of some versions having limited features...
...godmode on.;D
Edit: Personally, I don't like it. I've fiddled around for a while, but there are applications that don't work properly for me. Anyway, it's there for when I really need it. As of today, with W7 I have more than enough.

In case it hasn't come up here before, I'll pass on an article from gizmodo where they explain the privacy options of win10 and how to disable them step by step. As you know, it seems that win10 likes to excessively make use of your habits as a user
the article here

An elegant and simple way and alternative to programs like ProduKey. :sisi:
I add that the latest build of Windows 10 Threshold 2 (which had been withdrawn a few days ago  ) is now available again, available via Microsoft Media Creation Tool.
Remember that this build allows you to install Windows 10 from scratch using our W7, 8 or 8.1 key. -

I have been updated to Windows 10 for a few days and the truth is that so far everything is fine, I only had problems with the audio that I had to update the drivers of my X-Fi Titanium, otherwise everything is very smooth and fast.
