      Hello to all!

I would like to know if this cooler NH-C12P SE14
is valid for an i7 4790K socket 1150

In xtremmedia.com it indicates at the beginning of the description that no, but at the end it indicates that yes.

I specifically need this cooler because my temperatures are very high due to the cooler they have.

Thanks in advance for your interest

A heatsink for LGA1156, it works for LGA1155 and LGA1150, because the holes are at the same distance, so even if I don't say it explicitly, it works for you :sisi:

Another issue is the height of the memory, which you could also solve with an RL system, like the Corsair Hydro, or Cooler Master Nepton.

          Salu2!

            Many thanks!

About the RL... I'm totally new to it and I wonder if this product
            http://www.pccomponentes.com/movil/corsair_cooling_hydro_series_h100i.html

... is everything I need to cool the micro? How does the coolant circulate? Or does it not need it? Hehe you can tell I've never built any!

In recent years, pre-assembled liquid cooling kits have become very popular, in which the exchanger itself (the part in contact with the micro) has the pump placed on it, and which are also sealed in such a way that they do not need maintenance.

In short, answering your question: Yes, it is the only thing you need to cool the micro, but you will have to check that it fits in the case, and that you have somewhere to screw it in.

              Regards!

Fassou…. Writing to the technical service of Pccomponentes.com they tell me that the Noctua heatsink we talked about needs a backplate (which I must request from the manufacturer) in order to use it with my processor. Is this entirely true? Can the LGA1156 be attached with the anchors?

This model of heatsink is discontinued by the manufacturer itself, and in the link that Sylver provided you, you can read how Noctua itself recommends another more modern heatsink that replaces it in its range, specifically the NH-L12.

The translation of what the people at PCC are telling you is that this heatsink does not include the necessary backplate in the box to install it on LGA1366/LGA1156 platforms (and therefore on LGA1155 and LGA1150), and you would have to order it separately. So calculate the years that this model has ?

                  Salu2!

PD: I move the other post to the Conventional Cooling section, which is where it belongs.
